Lads, I'm pretty sure there's an Indy BMW specialist in Sandyford that may or may not be a user here. Need diagnostic done on a fault that's not coming up on spurious coder reader.

Anyone got contact info for this dude?

bmstuff is the lad you're thinking of I'd say. Not sure if he's in Sandyford but he's the only one who comes to mind with regard to electronic gubbins!

Friend just texted me to say that he's picked up the Octavia VRs (TDI) that he's always wanted. Jealous much!

Is it a mk2 or brand new. My uncle is on his second now (12 reg) and they are a serious car quite different to the 1.9 and 1.6 tdi my parents have. I've been in his a good few times and they always feel very quick quicker than 170bhp.

It's a mk2, 2012. He just sent a couple of pictures. Still on Northern plates.

Same as my uncles one then. Yep there a lovely car alright. He probably had better choice going up the north to get it you don't see that many 12 regs for sale here.

It was always his plan to go up North for it. But I didn't think he was going to look for one until the summer.

does he just do bms or does he do other stuff? I've been trying to ask a few times to no avail

I didn't ask as at the time I only had the bm.
From looking at the stuff he has put up in the pic thread, seems like he did other cars too.

It's just theres a few pixels missing on the computer in the saab, i was gona see if he'd be interested, looks an easy fix though, although I'm not too confident taking the entire console out for it yet :pac:

He would have a wider choice possibly but the UK model is normally lower spec unless it was specd up when new.
Friend of mine possibly selling a beaut of an 11 one up there within the not too distant future.

Well he said he'd have no problem doing work on the Mazda when I asked him.
I have asked him about prices twice and never commited to getting the work done, I must organise to get him to do stuff at some point soon.

Was brought home in a 10 VRS taxi two nights ago. They can really shift if you want them to. The seats were quality too!

They certainly are not shy when the "go pedal" is flattened :P

It always feels good when the NCT tester compliments your car after testing it. :-) Thats the last of the documentation I needed after importing it. Hated having free slots in the windscreen holder so can relax now.

Anyone know what the socket size is for spark plugs on the 2.0 TFSI? I've read 5/8", 10mm and 16mm. Don't want to waste money on unneeded sockets.

Afaik there are just 2 spark plug sizes. You are best to get a proper spark plug socket because it'll have a rubber piece in it to hold the plug so you can lift it out and also put it in without having to drop it down the tube.

Have you not got a set?
I'd lend you mine only I'm tied up right now.
And the handiest way to take out the spark plug is with the spark plug lead. ;)

well 5/8" is 16mm so that levels it down for a start :)

    From the last tunnel run!
Pity it's not longer. All cars featured were v6s.
