Flossing can help you live longer, I remember reading that is can help prevent heart disease. Satin floss is easy on the teeth and with a bit of practise you can get to those hard to reach molars at the back.

Maybe with a mouth the size of Cameron Diaz's mouth

But what do you do when you're Robert Deniro

I use those brushes every single day of every single month of every single year. If you don't have those spaces in-between your teeth then something is there instead....

My hygenist is really nice. It is a bit of a disincentive to flossing as I would miss my head in her boobs every six months (she gets in clooose)

Mine is a legendary biattch. Mind you, she's very good at her job. But so scary my whole family and 3 of my friends have dramatically improved our dental hygiene because of her. She made one of my friends cry once.

She's a really pretty blonde, and absolutely tiny. Most terrifying woman I've ever met in my life.

PM me if you're into being stuck into a chair with a miniature dominatrix leaning over you berating you, I'll pass on her details.

Totally agree. TePe are a great brand. Very useful for people with gaps in their teeth.

Satin tape is great for teeth without gaps :)

I wonder do we have the same hygienist, sounds exactly like mine!

I floss twice a day. Had braces for a year and a half recently and it made me obsessed with dental hygiene. And also scared of my dental hygienist..

I bet she does be fizzing at the slit at the sight of you with half your face frozen and drooling like a stroke victim :pac:

So absolutely beyond disgusting that it's not even amusing. Seriously. 'Slit' the place you emerged from at birth; why don't you approach your wife/mother/sister with this one. And I'm not taking any 'they are dead' either and any 'witty' remark will get you thanks but will further show what an unremitting arsehole you are.

No thanks, I prefer the soft and gentle approach!

    Boots.

I am religious about flossing. My dental hygenist is also terrifying, so it's really not an option.

My Wife is a dental nurse so I can quote your post word for word and mean it :(:D

It would be funny if we are all talking about the same person. Soft and gentle with Trigger and other males, terrifying to her hubbie and sadistic to all her female clients.

My Dentist told me that all my molars would have to come out.

"Why?" I asked, "There's nothing wrong with them."

He replied, "Yes I know, but I need to buy a new car."

You just arrived in this world already sat atop of your high-horse I suppose.

You know, you kind of lose the entitlement to be self-righteous and indignant about the language used by others when you need to resort to using foul language to personally attack people yourself.

I would assume that there isn't really any link to between healthy teeth and a healthy body. It doesn't make sense

These only work if the gaps between your teeth are already large enough. They will only fit between certain teeth

I never understood the whole idea of guilting someone when they're paying a fortune.

Being afraid for my life isn't the only motivating factor I know to make myself brush my teeth!! Unless of course you want to be treated like a child. And assume she wouldn't be attracted to a child

Expanding floss ftw. Expands when wet, kinda like a tampon for your teeth.

When I can be bothered to do it, yep.

I floss every single tooth, really does give you that ultra clean feeling.

One of these jobbies makes it easy to floss the molars...

Where in Ireland can you get those?

I use disposable ones shaped like the green one, but I'd love to be able to find one like the blue one.
    Most pharmacies sell them
    Boots.

I find it impossible to floss with the standard disposable flossers, where the floss is in line with the handle. I need a flosser where the floss is perpendicular to the handle, like the blue one linked above. I had a look in both McCabes pharmacy and Boots over the weekend, but I couldn't find anything like this. Any suggestions as to where I can get these?

Think I might pick up some of them perpendicular ones myself next time I see them. Can't get the feeling of having clean molars with the string by itself.

If you can't find them in stores you can always get them on Amazon.

This one in particular seems to be very highly rated and reasonably cheap - http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wisdom-Easy-Floss-Daily-Flosser/dp/B001ECQSRW/ref=pd_sim_d_4

I dunno how much shipping would cost, probably wouldn't be worth buying just one pack though

When I first started to floss properly I was absolutely horrified by the smell when I done my molars.

It was like I'd released the Kraken in my mouth! I can understand why it might put people off flossing, but the really offensive smell disappears after just a few days of flossing.
I don't understand how one can smell their own breathe anyway? I know you get out some food particles on occasion, but I don't know what you mean by releasing a smell.

I've tried with various products, including dental tape and it gets stuck between my teeth.

Or, it slips suddenly and I end up cutting my gums. I'd be more afraid of damaging my gums than not flossing.

I just use one of those SoniCare Airfloss things instead.
