I find it difficult to do so don't bother, just floss the incisors and canines. How about you?

I do them all. I'd only floss every other day though. If you get into the habit it's grand.

Where in Ireland can you get those?

I use disposable ones shaped like the green one, but I'd love to be able to find one like the blue one.

Americans make jokes about Europeans having bad teeth, I respond by pointing out how bad their gums are.

Most dentists are asking Americans to stop all the bleaching, hard brushing and bleaching as their teeth are falling out due to gums receding.

    yep.
Some of the crap that builds up behind the molars is nasty.
No wonder so many people have bad breath.

Yeah I don't, but it's just so awkward to do them and no nothing ever comes out of there anyway. But ok fine I will so.

I must just be unlucky that anytime I got to buy floss they don't have em. Or they hide em somewhere away from the rest of the oral hygiene stuff.

Same here, my teeth don't have gaps between them, so it's painful and I don't see much benefit. Last time I went to my dentist she said 'so you're obviously flossing regularly...' and I just said 'umm, yeah, sure'

Were you lying through your teeth?

They definitely have them in my local pharmacy. I can pick one up and send it on to you if you'd like?

It can be my good deed for the year.. better to get it out of the way early on :pac:

    Boots.

I am religious about flossing. My dental hygenist is also terrifying, so it's really not an option.

Thanks for the offer! I'll pass tho since the ones I currently use are at worst a mild inconvenience.

So just do it once a week or at least every so often. Initially I didn't like to floss my teeth because I observed that it lead to deepening of any puppet lines you may have, but now I have found a way in which I can do it without doing those facial expressions in the process. That's the only reason I find it hard to get back to the molars.

For years I didn't floss as I presumed mouth wash was a good enough substitute for it!!

I know a guy that doesn't floss because he says it smells so bad when he does.

Surely that is a very good reason to floss more frequently!

I actually, better off finding them in Tesco's.

I find the smaller pharmacies only have the small multi-pack disposable ones.
Dunnes is a bit random as to whether they have them or not, but I have seen them in Tescos.

There's always ebay of course :P
    __
And no OP , I don't floss. I brush my teeth, twice daily or use mouth wash if I don't have time in the morning but I don't floss.
I used to, but some of my teeth are too tight together, and often breaks the floss when I try to use it, now thats horrible!, a string of floss hanging between your teeth and trying to pull it out :(

It's in your best interest to tell the dentist the truth. He/she's not going to spank you. Have you forgotten that you're paying for the service? Or are you?

    + 1

The teeth at front are a doddle. It's the ones at back that need intensive flossing!

When I first started to floss properly I was absolutely horrified by the smell when I done my molars.

It was like I'd released the Kraken in my mouth! I can understand why it might put people off flossing, but the really offensive smell disappears after just a few days of flossing.

Is it even possible to floss them without one of those special plastic instrument things?

    Not effectively anyway

I used to only occasionally floss my back teeth until I got a mega cavity in one of the back ones on top. Was a very expensive lesson to learn.

My hygenist is really nice. It is a bit of a disincentive to flossing as I would miss my head in her boobs every six months (she gets in clooose)

I bet she does be fizzing at the slit at the sight of you with half your face frozen and drooling like a stroke victim :pac:
