How can one calf out of twins come brain damaged? Not us but a man near us had this happen. It sucks but is a bit 'simple' as he put it, will only suckle and move if got up and moved to the cow etc.

I've not seen it but this is what he was telling me.
I told him to check and see if it was blind, that would have been my first thought:confused:

+1, I presume the same rules apply to "outing" someone on here?

    It applies everywhere throughout Boards.ie.

If someone chooses to reinvent themselves, it's absolutely their own business unless they themselves choose to reveal their history.

This of course, ONLY applies to people with a clean/unremarkeble record!
People who set up new identities for nefarious purposes (sock-puppeting, avoidance of bans, etc) are treated somewhat differently by the admins.

Could the naval of the second calf been broken before birth? did she calve herself or need intervention? Grasping at straws here as you can see!
Does the "simple" calf's eyes appear to reflect light differently? had one here once which was as you describe, (not a twin) and his eyes seemed to reflect green light. Was a Friesian bull, so bucket fed. Drowned in a drain, eventually, unfortunately.

I haven't seen the calf, was just chatting to the owner today as he lost another one last night that should have taken a side exit but went out the natural way and his lungs were fcuked.

We had one ourselves a well a few years back, wouldn't suck milk, just LifeAid and he would stand staring at a wall. Put him down after 3 days as he was pining away.
Just never heard of it with twins before.

Seemingly brain damaged can be a symptom of neosporia and unless my memory is letting me down poorly developed lungs is another. I would be getting a lab test done.

On another note had a calf a few years back wouldn't drink milk but would take life aid or bacterial, reared it on milk replacer didn't thrive until it was on all solid feed, grand then. Lactose intolerance? ? ?
