I dunno do we live on the same island at all. Biggest problem around here last night was stopping flies coming into the house once it got dark. Very mild, we've had two nights of what we would call frost since the kids finished school. I doubt if many of the rest of ye would call it frost, nothing on wires, no pipes affected.

A quarter to five where I live in Donegal, just getting dark now, feels like a cold night ahead. Storms predicted over the next few days.

Up in Laois, a nice bit of it is the grazing block of a lad with 400 plus cows, not a nice problem to be facing coming into the spring.

was driving through Laois yesterday and i saw that flooded ground , thought i was imagining things at first it looked so bad

Some wall of water alright...we would be up in the hills about four miles from it and its like a lake to look down from it from our place

From what I heard in the shop this morning, one road blocked by over a foot of sand, another by seaweed. Power outages in the village. One lady had her shed destroyed and found contents, lifejackets etc, floating in the school playground. Currachs wrecked. Part of a pier and it's railings taken away, and the garden wall of the man living above the pier has been relocated halfway up his garden.

Such are the joys of living beside the sea when the wind and the moon come wrong at the same time.

was gonna say, thankfully no damage done and if anything the wind dried up the place a bit but after reading that :o
