Get the oil warmed up and see does it come out then as oil will find it hard to flow in this weather. Wondering why there was no oil in it when ya got it as it doesn't sound like its a case of a burst seal and it was repainted at one point. Was it owned by the previous owner for long.

Warning that was given to me one time is be careful of a restored tractor as in one mans version of a restored tractor or rebuilt engine is different to another mans.
was running for an hour or so this morning and no leaks, previous owner had it for 2 or 3 years, sat in shed for most of it. He is a panel beater and his son resprayed it, we gave them a spare back wheel we had at that time for it.

    Did ya check the filter?

Was the oil put in at the panel beaters or when ya got home?
Did the panel beater use it much, on tractor runs or anything?

I'd say that came to him right and I've a feeling it never had oil in it for A while and maybe parked up for a while before the panel beater got and it was just sprayed up the last few years.

It should be inside the backend, get access through a round plate behind the left foot plate , look at this

Hydraulic filter is only a wire mesh down beside the hyd pump.

If you remove the round plate where the pto lever is, reach slightly forward. It can be unscrewed removed and cleaned with spirit. Check that the mesh is not damaged.

Be sure to mark the pto lever position before removing as it'll break your heart replacing it.
