wouldnt worry about it really, if ya end up having to use alot of it means the engine is wearing out. using it alot also wears the engine quicker

oh has a question, lift on new 35 is not working, there was no oil in it, he put 15/40 in it-was all he had- has been lying up for a while. registering on dipstick now
could be alot of thing, lift pump being the first. No oil in the backend would be a bad sign. seals may be gone and it all leaked out

if it wasnt worked in a while the internals might have seized up due to lack of oil, seals could have gone hard or it could be a number of things (simple or complicatd). Not to annoy Delavel but if the 35 dont suit him and you want to move it on i might be interested.

see if oil still in backend, if it is then try lift arms. if no joy its time to split the tractor and maybe pull the two half shafts off and have a look inside

bet the oil strainer is well clogged and probably everything inside mechanically is as should be

    where is the oil strainer

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,825 ✭✭✭Sharpshooter82

that would be the simplest thing but it would take a serious amountof dirt to block it and if it got through the oil lines the oump and seals have to be worn. the fact that there was no oil in the backend has me thinking. How did it get out unless a seal was gone

there is a small one for the hydrailics inside the back end but you could check the hydrailic oil filter and check for dirt
