There's a true story about a close relation of mine. He used to be after rabbits a lot, trapping, netting, hounds, shooting etc. A friend of his had a rifle, remember times were a lot looser than now. Anyway he borrowed the rifle from time to time and the local Sargent got wind of it, started keeping an eye on him. The Sargent cornered my relative down a dead end road one day, told him to "hand over Joe Soaps rifle"

"Take it if you're able" came the reply. He didn't because he wasn't able.

Still he got a small slap on the wrist from the Judge )(small fine I think) but sure you can't avoid all things :D

Sorry Hugo, has to be an 'i' for 2013 (all 3 days that are left) 'j' if I shove her back in for a couple of days:D:D

I'll give the game away in 2015 when I'm showing Kovu around the ring in Carrick:pac:

I normally look through ai book or icbf for inspiration for names. Also I write a few down when I think of them. We have to use t,j or b for our calves

    Iona, Irene, Independence, Isavale,

Irene.....name of my English teacher in school:D Wasn't that the hurricane too?

Yup the RHF calf, calved naturally, hardy little thing, up and sucked in half an hour to a first calver. Gentle as anything but I'm still not going into that pen for love nor money, learned when I was young to never trust a heifer. P*ssing rain here now too.

My own cow is staring across the gate at the calf as well, getting broody, she's overdue to Crossmolina Euro. And another cow due to Westside Bob tomorrow! All hands on deck these days.

when the kids were young I think we used to have some of the most unusual names on record :(

down to a couple of pb cows now and they belong to the daughter.. now she just uses the letter and the last 4 digits of the tag no

    e.g J1573

same as that, diodnt move over the last few days and was great to stretch the legs a bit yesterday but was back to full training today and it wasnt pretty. Its amazing how you tight your muscles can get when not used for a few days

I have really no interest in going to work today, self feeding silage pit and storing all the cattle is the way forward im beginning to think.
