we had a lad who knows SFA about farming

I have a little cubby of a farm office and left the door open, asked him to check the calving monitor as there was a cow due,

at some stage my son had recorded some calving's and actually it was this that he was watching

he reported back the cow had something hanging out and looked distressed

asked him to check her every few minutes and suddenly every body seemed to be getting very intoxicated

long story short after a few checks every body was mysteriously footless and your man was freaking out about the cow needing help

he then came back to ask how was I jacking the calf while I was pi%%ed in the living room :D

was a few minutes before the penny dropped but he took it in good spirit

mrs brown is only trotting after us

Was at the card table till three last night. Head just a little hurty today.
But your right. It's great crack to have a bunch of folks round to the house.
We have this nught every Christmas and I really look forward to it.

Have another card night in the sisters house New Year's Eve. It'll be a late one too.

    Down a tenner.
With the kids around we don't play for cash in the table.

We buy a few prizes, maybe €100 worth. Then at the start every player chips in their share to pay for the prizes.
Then when a player wins two games they gets to choose their own prize and then start from scratch again. Had 9 at the table so for 25 it was good crack. I won nothing as just for the crack two of the BIL's were hammering me at every corner.

We'd have a good few kids around the house and while I'm no stick in the mud I don't agree with gambling with kids there.
And it stops that sort of crazy carry on.

Head just clear now and were setting up for afternoon visitors. Just lunch this time.

    I agree bob.
Money's too hard earned to be throwing it about like that.

Love cards 25 or Texas Holden
I often play Texas Holden for €20
first weekend every month and a few over Xmas they have one for €60 but I refuse to play but they would have double the players than a normal one
usually first few out will have a tame of straight poker never play like to know what I'll lose
Best craic you'll have is in my local €1 a head for the first to 2 games of 25 it could take a hour to lose 1 or be up 5 and massive amount. Of banter
