My air cooling setup laughs at water :P Just benched Heaven for half an hour, stock settings 7950 (950/1250 - but I undervolted a bit, still rock solid stable, I game at these settings, 931mv) on my Accelero Xtreme - max core 44 degrees, max vrm 1 44, vrm 40. Benched on Extreme preset. 5 mins after bench and it's idling at 26 degrees :) I'm so happy I remounted it and applied some MX4.

I installed it there all by myself :) when I got home and its solved my issue,This has definitely given me more confidence because I also cleared the cmos, took out the ram and re seated it and took out the cmos batt which fixed a problem I was having with my clock :).

YES! Wtf? This is like the only post on the internet about it. So I am running a Dell, but it's a Studio 17 (1st Gen) that I bought in August of 2008. How the hell is Dropbox/Dell going to roll out a 1 year extra space thingy now? I'm confused. It's like the 50GB I got when I purchased my SGS4.. hmm.

Anyone have a source link for this phenomenon?

    Cheers guys.

Adverts.ie doesn't handle any transactions. That part is up to you. :)

Was just looking at that, cool. I see you're asking for postage. Normally I just post things out via registered post and PM the buyer the tracking number from the slip. Get my moneyz via Paypal/Bank Transfer.

Just hooked up my SSD, it's appearing in BIOS and device manager. To activate, do I just go to disk managemnt and click "new simple volume"? This intialises a wizard to activate the drive. It gives me the option to format, should I do so? AFAIK formatting shouldn't be done on SSDs as the firmware evenly spreads the data to avoid wear.

I was going to just send the actual console via parcel motel as it's only 4.50 compared to an post's much higher amount.
As for the carts I'm just putting em in a padded envelope and posting them with 2 stamps

    Well.. Big question.. Interested? :o

Yep formatting is fine, you're thinking of defragmentation

I seen a while ago some people were struggling with FX processors and battlefield 4 with windows 7. It's probably already been posted but I found a fix that worked for a build I made with a 6300. If you follow the top answer in this thread and apply the 2 windows 7 fixes there then the cpu usage is a lot better and you don't get the spiking.

    http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/answers/id-1867121/battlefield-amd-6300-gtx-680.html

I have it running at 4.2ghz with an r9 270 at 1150 / 1550, all stock voltages, with everything on high, textures on ultra, 1920x1080, no AA and it runs solidly at around 60 fps.

That probably explains why some people were getting better results with windows 8 as well.

If I clone my current SSD, does that copy over Windows as well?

Well, yes... depends on what you are cloning. Tools such as clonezilla can clone whole disk or separate partitions, and yes, your windows installation will work just fine. Data on target disk will be lost, keep that in mind.

The only Dell with DB live on it is one I got free, so I think I can claim a pardon for that one.

Same, this box is ancient. Date of manufacturer on the service tag says 06/14/07. They must have blanket upgraded all dell boards. Thats a BIG feckin promo if its the case.

    EDIT: Sheeet.

I'm going to get a CM 212 evo, how hard is it to take off the stock cooler? I've heard stock thermal paste is like super glue, is it worth the effort? It seems like it'll take a lot of time for the ability to overclock.. WILL IT BE QUIETER??

Hmmm... I was wondering if there will be anything new in the market for GPUs in late March/late April?

I was thinking of getting Xbox one as Birthday present, but the more I think about it, the less I want it ( or just realise how little will I use it ). I got PS4 for my console lazy days and I dont get a stiffy every single time Halo or GoW are mentioned.
So I might as well use that money to upgrade my GPU. I am using gtx 680 now, and I dont really see a point in upgrading to 780/780ti. I wonder would I sitll get away with my z68 and pcie 2.0 for the next gen cards. I dont really want to upgrade my gpu/mobo as it still more then enough.

@shadowhearth . If you have a gtx 680 I don't see the point of upgrading your machine at all . The gains would be so minimum it would kind of be a waste of money . I would say buy a few games instead or save the money and upgrade in a year .

Maybe get a second 680 if your mobo handles SLI? 2.0 vs. 3.0 PCIe has very little impact on SLI performance.

Well, thats why I was saying about March/April as 7 generation of AMD and Nvidia is feck all good for me. If there is nothing new then I will stay with 680.

Glynf: Second 680 was always in my head too. I got PSU to handle it too. Its a shame I did not bought one when they were on bottom of price wave.

I guess I could pick up easily second hand one for 200-250eu.

    @ShadowHearth

800 series from nVidia are due around Spring. As early as February, possibly, but expected March/April.
