The real pressing issue is the t/belt needs to be done very soon. Last done at 45k miles and its approaching 90k.

Still I'm hoping to spend money on a trip to Thailand next June and a few other things. Makes sense to keep it. Its a funny car, I don't like or hate it. I'm very indifferent towards it.

    How much was the car?

€850. Lots of NCT left so I'm not worried about that.

On an €850 car, I wouldnt bother with the belt, drive it on ta fook!

If you can do the belt yourself then I would say do it, However if you're going to pay someone to do it then risk it :)

I'd be paying someone else to do it. Not a chance is attempt it myself. Belt roulette sounds interesting.

Got my new upper control arm fitted today, thanks George Dalton!
Drove to carlow and back home, sans rattle, it was great:D

Edit, one of the inner bushings was completely fooked after 10K km, different make fitted now, hope it lasts longer!

What brand failed and what brand did you put on? TRW?

Dunno what the old one was, new one was Febi.

I just have to wait now, the drivers side was changed about a month after the one that just failed (passenger side)with the same make.
I hope it was just 1 bad one.
It was really bad, metal centre had pulled away from the bushing and I could rattle it with my hand, maybe 2mm of play. The thing sounded like rain on a metal roof on anything but a perfectly smooth road. And it went from the first tiny rattle to completely fooked in about 800km

Has anyone had dealings with Beshoff Motors in Howth before? Plan on viewing a car there tomorrow and would appreciate any insight. :)

Or leave it as it is which is the way it was designed and from the other options of a heat sucker or puddle sucker, it's the best way :D

Would you consider hot air or water going into your engine fun???

Well lads, which spell do I use to ensure my standard air intake doesn't suck in any hot air from the engine bay?
    Seems like some impressive magic!

Was going to look at a car there last year, but was sold before the weekend so didn't get a chance.

Not dealt with them, but they somehow ended up with the wife's old V50 after we traded it in to Canavan's. The photo's made it look like a brand new car, so they do a very good job of prepping stuff for sale. Was acurately described and mileage etc. were correct on the ad.

They've been around long enough, with no horror stories, so must be doing something right.

Will sell it privately. You were right, he was essentially offering me €1000 for it. :/

Is it really going to fetch much more privately?
