    When did ice cream become poison? If any of ye watch TUF you will see the amount of sh1t/alcohol the fighter consume.

    Ice cream is tasty and should be consumed with cake as part of a balanced diet.

    Broner is unreal, been following him for years, before he was cool :cool:

    He's one of the very best right now. Floyd, Ward and him. He would beat Pacquiao without much hassle. Pacquiao can't and won't fight guys with a style like mayweather/broner, unless it's his final payday. Look back at some of his early fights and who he struggled with, then look at some of the common characteristics of guys that gave him trouble... If the fight ever happens, put the kitchen sink on Broner.

    Anyway, ice-cream, yes. I would believe that from time to time Broner could have it. Why not. He's quickly moving up weight classes. Just don't ignore the fact that the rest of his diet is gonna be very very good...

    Op brought this up as result of another tread where he took exception to a post stating people should manage there sources of sugar. This was in the context of the average joe who gets little or no exercise. The case for a pro-athlete consuming a lot of sugars around intense train times is a different case altogether.

    Why is it so difficult for people to believe that you can get in shape and stay in shape by eating bread, pasta, ice cream, pizza etc. As long as you are eating enough fiber (10 to 15 grams) per 1000 calories then there should be no issue eating them types of foods.

    Brb eating broccoli, porridge, chicken and feeling miserable.

    So if you've a HUGE kcal output as a professional athlete (say 10k+ kcal/day) you've a bit of leeway with your nutrition.

    ****ing wow.

    Why is it so difficult for people to believe that you can get in shape and stay in shape by eating bread, pasta, ice cream, pizza etc. As long as you are eating enough fiber (10 to 15 grams) per 1000 calories then there should be no issue eating them types of foods.

    Yeah you can loose weight if thats what you mean by in shape by running a calorie deficit.

    the question is can you be health in the mid and long term by running a calorie deficit/maintenance where the calories come from processed foods containing sugar.

    Well like I said if you are eating enough fiber then theres no reason why you should not be able to include simple sugars into your diet also. Obviously in order to eat enough fiber you will have to include fruit and veg into your diet.

    If you are eating all of your carbs from simple sugars then no its most likely not healthy in the mid to long term. Likewise eating all of your carbs from complex carbs is not really realistic either. Why do people on boards always use extreme examples to backup their views.

    That's exactly what the situation in the OP is. An extreme example that's essentially useless.

    Pro athletes have massive calorie outputs. But they have the same hours in a day to fuel thus so obviously their meals look like high calorie indulgences for the rest of us.

    A bet the macro % breakdown of his diet is fairly normal given his output.

    Broner struggled with Paulie Malinaggi in his last fight. Manny would decapitate Broner.

    If Mayweather is so good why won't he fight Pacquiao? It's Manny that is asking for the fight. Floyd's cherry picking again, he's fighting Khan next.

    Flexible (IIFYM) Dieting is a great way to diet for mental stability. It is not all about thinking of all kinds of "tasty" foods and refined sugars to try and hit your macros. When utilized properly it is about a healthy balance of foods that are rich in all kinds of nutrients, eating 90-95% "clean" and wholesome foods and 5-10% "dirty" foods. You also have to hit your fiber amounts and make sure you are getting in the essential micro nutrients through fruit, veg and multi vits. When using this method for weight loss I got no cravings for conventional "bad" food and did not once cheat on my diet. I did a 30 week contest prep using this approach and got very conditioned...

    However for the general public it is not a diet style that I would encourage as very few of them would approach it sensibly and would take in too much simple sugars and not enough micro-nutrients or fiber. So tbh I am not bothered if people don't agree with the diet style, the one thing I hate is people trying to "preach" it and force it upon people. Each to there own.
