First person Ive heard say it has too much chilli. Is there a chilli beer with less in it that you like?

I've only tried one other chilli beer before. I didn't like that either. :P Just one of those styles I don't like, I suppose!

nice little offy in Kennys, had planned on calling in today but it never happened. have they any draught craft in the pub. up the road in the County bar they have a few craft beers on draft plus Pilsner Urquell.

Sierra Nevada pale ale. I don't know if they have any others. I only go into the offie. Haven't drunk in the pub since January!
The guy in the offie is pushing them to try different beers though. The SN is selling quite well by all accounts.
He's seeing if they can get some of the McGargles stuff on tap.

Anyway, the MCGargles red is a bit insipid and bland. They need a bit of work. It's not a patch on the likes of Franciscan Well's red or O'Haras.
Very little carbonation but that must be deliberate, due to the fact that they're using a reasonably sized brewery to brew and bottle at the moment.
A few tweaks needed but I'm just delighted to see yet another craft brewery open here.
The festival in the RDS next year is going to be nuts at this stage.

I brewed a Coopers Stout and stuck some Chilli into it, around 50% of my test subjects have liked it.

    Anyway, here's tonight's selection

I got two 90 Shillings because I like them, two seasonals because seasons and the Boont because I never heard of it before.

I also have a Rustbucket kicking around somewhere.

At a Christmas party thingy and not much choice so in currently drinking Guinness, might go mad later and switch to Smithwicks.

It's free bar though so I ain't even mad.

Galway Bay Stormy Port, wtf. Posted on this thread a while ago when someone asked if they solved the lack of carbonation issue, but in all seriousness it's beyond a joke tonight. Took a bottle from the fridge that's been there the last 2 weeks undisturbed and left it on the counter for nearly an hour before I opened it. Upon opening it was like Vesuvius, foam just kept coming so I had to leave it in the sink.

Left it for another half hour before pouring very slowly at an angle and still ended up with an overflowing glass with more than half suds. Now I don't think it's me as I never had this issue even with the headiest of wheat beers, have I got a dodgy batch?

At this rate I think this is the last bottle I'll have, it's just too much of a chore to get it into a somewhat drinkable condition.

It's a pretty meh beer anyway so you're not missing much.

And to be honest that doesn't sound like a carbonation issue, just a bad bottle. Has happened to me with 8 degrees knockmealdown a few times.

Decided to go out for an hour. Got a bottle of Anderson Valley Brewing Company's Barney Flats Oatmeal Stout. Lovely stout. Not worth the €7.50 I was charged in the pub. Can't complain though. I knew the price before I ordered it.

Went to brew dock. They are out of F&F until next Thursday.

Just poured a Founders Breakfast Stout. Impressed so far.

Dunno, too many bottles like this for them all to be bad at this stage.

Had that Brooklyn pumpkin, unremarkable enough.

The Boont Amber Ale is lovely and malty, gonna hit the Goose Island Christmas Ale next, then two more Odell's. Five Barrell Pale and another 90 Shilling.

    The boont is lovely stuff.

Imho the 90 shilling us the best of the two Odell beers.

    Dieu du Ciel Isseki Nicho
This "Imperial Dark Saison" is a collaboration between DDC and Shiga Kogen. It has the grain bill of an Imperial Stout, hops grown at Shiga Kogen and is fermented with Saison yeast.

Incredible beer. Wasn't sure at first as it seemed like the two styles were at odds, but as I drank it it just works perfectly. The smell is amazing too. If only you could bottle that smell. :)

I was sipping on a Pliny last night. The king of DIPAs. Alas, it was my last one but it was so worth it.

If you lived in the North Bay Area you would be singing from a different hymn sheet.
