Sounds like DayZ :rolleyes: Expect terrible FPS. Ktulu had a good video on the settings. Got me a few extra FPS

christ its bad though , like I was trying to run it on a 20 year old laptop !:)

just a quick update after following ktulhu's video my fpa have gone from between 6-11 to hovering about 47..much more playable

Worth getting with an Core2Duo 2.2ghz/Nvidia GT260/4gb Ram? Probably not is what I'm thinking.

I'm using a Toshiba laptop with integrated graphics and it's working grand for me, dedicated video ram is only 32mb though, but there doesn't seem to be any problem running it for me, maybe download the arma 2 free version and give it a belt?

Won't have time to get the demo, it's a tenner on steam for the OA and ARMA for like the next hour. Sure I'll try it out.

Yeah I hope you are, my laptop doesn't run it amazingly well but well enough that I can play it and see what's going on and actually enjoy it so i'm happy with it until I get myself a proper Gaming Pc after christmas!

Is that one of the cards that scales up based on what is running? I dont think theres a chance any current game would run with that amount of GPU memory. Just noticed thats only the dedicated memory, the card will use system memory as well!

For running Arma 2 a good processor is more important than a good graphics card.

Integrated graphics on my Toshiba laptop.

Laptop seems to run anything I've thrown at it so far though.

The more I think about it the more it becomes apparent that the launch of this game is going to be an absolute clusterfúck. Remember how hard it was to get on a server when the mod exploded in June/July of last year? This is gonna be ten times worse and its alpha so there will be some bugs too.

Still can't wait though!

I've been playing arma 3 Breaking Point. Not the finished article but it's the arma 3 engine, change of scenery is always good, improved inventory, movement etc, no more dying on stairs.

The zombies are slower but in towns you really find it hard to enter a house with just one exit because you get swarmed.

So yeah, I'm liking it so far.

If you type in "Russian Server" and have origins mod and official only ticked. you should find it, its a 40 person server and its fairly active... mainly with crazy Russians.
