I'll just have to watch streams till I can play

http://www.twitch.tv/lirik playing on a day time server, looks epic.

How can you stand to listen to that guy for more than 5 mins? He's so annoying. Prefer a bit of Psi myself. The alpha is looking pretty good for it being so early. Can't wait for a hands on tomorrow.

Rather Liirk than that complete assclown Sacriel!

In terms of computer spec what is this like. Is it a hog on graphics. If I was able to run previous day z mod(just about) is this the same or has it been optimised in any way.

    About the same I'd say.

    Anyone know the download size?
It says 10gb but i'm guessing that'll be compressed.

Took the liberty of creating a separate thread for the standalone here.

Lots of the CPU hoggy stuff has been shifted over server-side on the Dayz standalone. Might be worth a shot?

That'll be a real shame for many. It was asked several times if this would address that problem, and they said it would.
Anyway, I'm broke, so it's going to be Xmas eve or later by the time I can get it :(

I don't know what I was expecting. Again I fall into the trap of paying for a game in early release.

I have no idea what I'm supposed to be doing in this game. I couldn't even get the torchlight to work.

you need to combine your battery with it

How? All the dragging and left/right clicking didn't seem to do anything. There are fcuk all entries in the controls

I had to put the torch in my hand and then drag the battery on to it

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 14,698 ✭✭✭✭BlitzKrieg

when you drag it to the torch you should get the option to either swap or attach battery. choose attach and it'll click to the torch and work now.

I like the lamps handy to light up rooms properly but may attract some unwanted attention

This thread could do with a lock now mods. The standalone is released & has a thread already

Still mods out there arma2 and arma3 dayz

Either move all to tactical shooter or create new section

Given its popularity, a new forum would probably be the best option

Are people still playing the DayZ mod or have they moved over to the Standalone? I see ArmA 2/Operation Arrowhead are dirt cheap on the Steam sales. Splashed out on ArmA2 Combined Operations for €3.99.

I still play the mod, like overwatch, so much action and easy to lonewolf due to self bloodbags and all that. Only play it when I'm really bored though.

Lads anybody know what the story with the gaellords epoch server is at night time(AM) in regards to the day/night cycle?

Im a night worker half the year so tend to be playing at 4/5 in the morning and every time ive gone on the server does not reset and its permanently night time,is it on a 24hr cycle and ive to play during the day for daytime if that makes sense?:o

With very few people on at that time its not much hassle to head north and find NV but i wanna try get a house going and dont want to build at night to find during the day the building is just out in the open and be a pain doing the building with NV

Other than that enjoying the server, nice to have a good ping and good framerates:)
