That will probably match the performance of a closed loop cooler like the h100i for the most part and will have less issues (no chance of an air cooler breaking, no issues with water etc).

    What CPU do you have?

    i5-4670k arriving Wednesday :)

Only reason I'm thinking of selling the new in box Noctua is mostly for aesthetics as I'm going down a cleaner look. Then again the cooler looks beast ! Grrrrr .... Decisions

I feel ya, such a good cooler, shame it's so ugly.

No point in going water at all for that CPU (unless you're putting your whole system user water, which is another issue entirely). A Noctua is good for it. If you'd prefer another cooler then go for it, it's up to you.

Not something as compact as that but I have a media drive hooked up to the TV with some hard drives hooked up to it too.

    http://www.peats.com/specials/iomega_director.html

Have all my movies and tv series on it. Great thing to have. Also have it hooked up to the network so I can transfer files on my main computer over onto that so I can watch them on the big screen.

That is a lot more expensive then I want to spend. I just want a yoke to plug in to TV and connect USB stick or hdd.

Something like this would be great, but after some googling it turns out it does not play all the media files. It is about stupid as something like Ebay small yokes play all of them...

I was looking at this, but when I go to check out, I get a messege that they wont ship to Ireland...

This works out 30£ when delivery included.

It will be almost 40eu with Vat and amazon conversion. I dont mind buying something like this ( non branded and dodgy ) for 20eu, but 40eu makes me consider something more decent. If it does not work properly for 40eu, then it would be annoying.

I heard there are some Android Mini Pcs. Anyone got any experience with them?

Use Parcel Motel for it, I just put that in my basket there and it works out to be £59 with next day delivery to my Parcel Motel. Thats with using Amazon Prime

This one is not an issue. I can get that delivered. It has issues with actual playback of some files.

The small "unbranded" yoke I was looking at for 26£. By using parcel motel and to count in the trip to nearest location puts even more cost on that thing.

I don't suppose anyone knows where I could find a male-to-male, full size DisplayPort cable as close as possible to the Dún Laoghaire area or town? I have to replace what I think is a dead one as soon as possible.

Guys, another one. I got Wifi repeater. I managed to connect it, but looks like Repeaters ip is same as my eircom rooters IP. ( Or they should be same in the first place? ) So it looks like that it is working with all devices now ( in fairness PS3 was acting out ), but when I try to get to my Eircom rooter, it goes in to rooter through ****y Wifi repeater. I cant even log in in to rooter then.
I guess it is possible to to change rooter IP? Will repeater stay on that old IP and then I can get in to eircom rooter directly? Or am i miss understanding completely the way repeaters work, and IP should be same on both?

Just disconnect the repeater and directly connect to the router? You can change the IP, or better yet make sure DHCP is enabled from it.

I cant connect it directly. It does not have a port :(.

Its this little ****, I bought it ages ago, but was cba in properly setting it up:

I give up. I manage to sort of getting it working, but then randomly other devices start acting up. They can't connect to internet etc.

Feck that, looks like there is enough WiFi signal for me to play ps4 with vita in bed and that's all that matters.

Lesson learned, never buy unbranded cheaper products even if they are number 1 seller on Amazon.

    Huawei is hardly unbranded..

They're a fairly big manufacturer of mobile devices and Internet devices. They make all mobile dongles for the networks here.

    ... Really?

It's **** anyway... Looks like as soon as I plug damn yoke in it completely breaks all Sony device internet connection. The maon reason I even need it is only for ps vita remote play. Tried to play as is and it is a bit laggy at times :(.
Looks like that repeater sticks to up of rooter, then overrides to its own interface which is shiet. Makes cluster**** of all system and as o said completely breaks ps vita internet connection. Funny enough all android devices could not give a single feck.

Can't you wirelessly connect to the router's ip? I'm sure the user and pass is on an eircom manual somewhere

You see, that repeater uses same up address as eircom rooter. Even when I tried to change eircom rooter completely repeater would still wrap it self around rooters ip and put ita own interface, which does not work.

I will look more in to it. If not, I guess my best bet is those plugs?

Uses the same SSID, not IP. Go to 192.168.1.254 and login with the WPA key printed on the bottom of the eircom modem(assuming its not an old netopia).

Anybody play The Witcher 2? My god it taxes the pc,around the same as Crysis 3 from what I can see, I had heard it was demanding but didnt expect that! Only starting the game really, it does look exceptional though:)

Yeah it uses SSID, but when I go to my rooters ip I get to repeaters overlay not directly on to eircom rooter. It gives you where to put in password and user ID, but it is broken. It does nor let me in.

You in for a treat. It's one of my most favorite games of all times. Make sure to get wasted with blue stripes - it's brilliant.

As for performamce - go through the settings. There is one option that brings to crawl all systems. I can't remember how it was called but turning it off brings bback huge amount of performamce and does not make game look worse at all.

Well, I am shifting my focus a wee bit. I will wait for better selection of proper PS4 headphones, so I will be bale to spent a bit more for that "magic box".

I think I can go up to 100eu. I need a Device primary to watch movies on TV, I want it supporting as much as possible Video formats. Divx is a must. I will be able to use my ps3 in bedroom for netflix too.

I need that device so I can free up my pc and make it easier/more reasonable to use. A remote would be a must too. the reason why I want to free up my PC, so I can let my "peasant" friend to enjoy PC gaming, it would be my "nice thing to do" for Xmas. He is a young parent and he is living from wages to wages as misses is not working and studying. He cant afford **** now. :(

So what are the options? Maybe some of those mini android PCs?

I know, it was mentioned already, but I would like something to work oit of the box and be simple.

That WD play yoke would be something that would be perfect, but it is reported to be very laggy and Does not support DivX.

I had an Asus O!Play (R1), and never met a format it couldn't play. Very responsive interface too, but it doesn't have much in the way of additional internet niceties like youtube/netflix support etc . Although mine is a very early version of it so later version might be better (Thats is why I eventually replaced it with a full HTPC).

Still it is quite expensive, and although I have found it pretty good, there must be better value to be had out there.

EDIT: Just remembered it was is also real pain in the ass to get it working off a Windows 7/8 share drive across a network, but perfect for USB/HDD.

    Something like this?
    http://www.asus.com/Multimedia/OPlay_Mini_Plus_Netflix/

It is exactly What I am looking for, as long as it plays all files. Netflix and YouTube is not really iimportant as I am moving my ps3 in to bedroom.

Not 100% sure about the mini, I heard it might be a bit laggy (Not sure read up on this point) this is the one I had but like I said it was released about three years ago and not worth €100 IMO (Not when you could buy a OUYA console for another €20 or so which maks a servicable HTPC by all accounts ).

In fairness, as long as it plays video files, I could not give a flying feck of it is a bit laggy. It's is there only for me to press button and watch movie or tv series. I already have 120gb ssd external drive, so I don't Really need wireless streaming. Netflix will be handled by ps3.

So Asus is pretty much winner so far. Any othera options?
