We got power brought down for the parlour from an esb pole that was literally 2 across feet from the fuse box no poles/transformers just a box and a couple of meters of wiring was charged 2,000 as it was classed as a new connection, id say you could be in for a fright when they get back to you with a quote.

Had lads canvassing from both sides here, it was embarrassing to say the least, there was a better chance of me voting before they turned up.
" ah sure he will try his best" and " he's not the worst of them" was the best they could come up with
There is 4 votes here and not one of them tried to sway us

Its a piss-take of a company, sickening the way its run their absolutely creaming it and now their going on about strike action be funny to see the backlash against them if it goes ahead.

Just now got to watch ETTG on player. It hasn't shed much light on the IFA election for me anyway lol. One of the interesting things about it is the rumour - and I agree with who ever said they can't tell cos neither can I - that one candidate is ahead of the other. Why is that interesting, cos no one wants to back a loser if they need to seek help from the winner in the future. Whether or not that rumour turns out to be true, we'll see, I have no idea. My vote is still for sale undecided :D

Got to say i was impressed enough with Bergin on ETTG. Better specker than the other fella anyway. I'll have to do abit of reading up on both of um. Will it make any difference in the end though?

I'm chairman of my Iocal branch and all I can say about this election is its a joke and from been out canvassing with some of the candidates lads on the ground couldn't give a crap about the ifa or who's running..over the last 3 years we've had an average of 9 people at our Agm despite having excellent guest speakers each year.most people attending are mid fortys plus and whinge about anything and everything regardless from Bvd schemes to next years bord bia scheme for dairying.i reckon turnout will be poor .ifa finished me with there no show when early retirement and inst aid were pulled.thet sat on there ass talking about how disgracefull it was and protested 3 weeks later.the pensioners were out the following day and got results.

No, some of them are creaming it and much like many other sectors there are some workers tarred with the same brush as all. They already agreed to a much reduced pension and waived the right to old age pension to keep the show afloat. Now the pension is being run onto the rocks and these guys and gals will be left without even a statutory old age pension. Best of lick to them and I hope they win their dispute. I hope people don't honestly believe privately owned utilities companies will come in and provide cheaper power. They will fleece us all for as much as they can get.

+1 on the installation aid and early retirement. They threw a right spanner in what myself and the auld lad had planned. Took away any incentive to get auld fellas to loosen their grasp on their farms and let the the young lads take over the reins. I wouldn't have thought there was a huge amount of people availing of the schemes either.

Any one know where you can get a compressor reconditioned?? Have a 50l one here that needs a bit of work but would do the job fine for pushing milk into the tank at end of milking

Would a farmer get any discount from ESB for a mains connection if he had a few poles running across his land? Yes, I do mean me. Quote I got was €1,800 which I thought ridiculous.

No, look on donedeal he advertises reconditioned compressors there.
Youd probably pickup a secondhand one as cheap as fixing yours.

Could you look into a solar or wind turbine alternative?

Was anyone at the opening of Joyces new hardware shop in headford today ? I got a text the last day that they were doing a beef nuts and rations starting at 230 a tonne , and that they would have reps from all the major feed companies there for advice .
I didnt get a chance to sneak away from work today for a snoop

Yeah I've solar sorted for the fencer, was just idly wondering really. For lighting solar will do for any shed too I'd say. Be handy to run power tools though, not sure I'd be interested in the expense of a windmill + batteries, not that I know how much they cost :o
