    a) they were in a band with a sex offender for how many years and had no inkling what he was like, yeah fair enough if you believe that, I don't

    b) the f**ker was arrested ages ago and rather than disband straight away they hedge their bets until just before it goes to trial.

    Miserable morally dubious f**kwits

So everyone knew he was a sex offender and said let him **** kids I want money? You should be a writer for Eastenders or something.

The remaining members can agree to have all their royalties donated to charities

but they probably wont because they're an utterly **** excuse for a band who had a kiddie fiddler as a singer.

It's hardly the band's fault their lead singer was a monster. Crimes as depraved as these are not exactly something you share with your friends and family.

I hope these children find loving homes and never find out what these evil bastards did to them.

Never said they were guilty of anything other than being gutless c**ts who should be treated with contempt.

You are expecting them to act guilty and want them to pay a penance as accomplices. There is no difference however you try to word it. You are pushing guilt onto them.

    He's pled guilty though.

Cool_CM was discussing about the rest of the band, not Ian.

Lostprophets were the band I listened to as a teen, and I won't lie, they helped me through some of the toughest times of my life. Reading this I just feel sick. Those poor babies. I just can't believe a man that hugged me and told me it'd be ok could do something like that.

I just...ugh. I feel so sorry for the poor little children involved, and I just hope they've someone in their lives who will take care of them. I've some sympathy for the other members in his band, most of them grew up together and for them to discover that is horrific.

    He's pled guilty though.

He did today, but had been maintaining his innocence since his arrest.

The reference was to the band not breaking up until recently though.

    A) You'd be surprised about how much you don't know about those around you everyday.

    B) As a band, they'd be 1 entity to whoever they have various contracts (Gigs, Merchandising, Recording), all which come with obligations. They'd need to have seeked legal advice prior to announcing a split, to determine any penalties and what would be the best approach for them out of it.

You are truly something piece of work, if you think 5 other people who weren't involved should suffer due to this.

Fascinating, maybe you should explain this one entity presumption further, after all you work in the entertainment industry and have a firm grip on legal practice in the industry

    Don't you?

My apologies, I agree they should be left out of it-there's never been a suggestion that they knew anything.

I have studied it in college.

All members sign their contracts as either part of the band or session musicians contracted to the band. If there is a split, it means the Band or their contractors are in breach, so if even one person pulls out, they can all be affected negatively by it and face financial penalties as a result.

I had to stop reading halfway through the article. It was just too disgusting and disturbing.

I have a couple of Lostprophets CDs somewhere although it's years since I've listened to them. When I see them next I think I'll just throw them in the bin. I usually don't let a musicians personal life determine whether I listen to their music or not, but I don't think I could ever listen to him again without thinking about that article. If I no longer want something of value I usually give it to a charity shop but his music should be taken out of circulation.

I bought my girlfriend to see this wretch perform about a decade ago when we were teenagers - odd feeling...
Watkins sent a text to one of the women saying: "If you belong to me, so does your baby."

In another exchange with a second woman, she messaged Watkins images of her child saying: "She needs to know mummy and daddy don't love her."

    hmm.

    :(

I feel for his parents if they're still around. How can he ever look them in the face after saying things like that

All of this story made me extremely angry and disguisted but that part of it in particular just made me feel sad...

    That poor child... :(

Why weren't the "mothers" named and shamed here? They are as guilty as this sub-human filthbag is...

Had to stop reading the article after reading the bit about the mothers raping them.

Like a few here, I used to be fond of a couple of their songs back in the height of their fame.

From what i can tell they weren't in court, plus there is usually a no name policy on "people" like that as it can then be found out who the kids are

    Flipping hell.

Lots of people elsewhere saying he's obviously sick but that just sounds like plain old fcuking evil

Well he is sick, the simple truth is that there is a level of sick where the best option to is to just put the ****er down.

Hang on a second - how are they supposed to "have an inkling" about this?

What, do you reckon he just waltzed into practice one day and announced "So I was raping this baby the other day lads, and...."

What you are suggesting (that the band clearly knew what he was up to) isn't reasonable and isn't backed up by any evidence.

There's wrong and then there's just plain depravity. Unfortunately it seems to have happened a few other times with members of 'Nu-Metal' bands.

The mothers who let their kids be raped too, fcuking hell

That'd be more so naive, than moronic. I wouldn't be surprised if I saw people acting out as such "in good faith." To see'em harp on about it after evidence was presented would be moronic. Everything I've seen so far, suggests shock and disgust though.

And 60's/70's popstars/TV personalities. Suggests the genre really isn't the issue as it seems to sound in your post. Just a way to get exposure.

Fair enough, stands to reason. Still, would have been some justice to hear them trying to explain themselves to a court - although the more important issue is to protect the victims as you say.

Hopefully they will be placed with a loving family, and never informed of the unspeakable abuse this animal and their "mothers" visited upon them...

Holy hell. I'm truly shocked. I heard about this a while ago, but it slipped my mind again until now. That is some completely depraved, horrifying sh*t. Seriously, babies. I can't even...

Yer man aside, what about those women "offering" their children to him?? What the bloody hell is wrong with them? I don't know anyone who wouldn't be homicidal at the thought of someone violating their children, much less offering them to a pedophile. How do these people even end up meeting each other??

It seems that everyone involved is a danger to society. Hope they don't see the light of day again.

And I do feel sympathy for his former bandmates. They more than likely knew nothing of this (pedophilia is not something people tend to go on about in public), and now their careers are destroyed and they're going to always be associated with this sick individual. Hard to pick yourself up again after something as terrible as this.

This song in particular seems pretty messed up now:
