Some Music to set the mood.

Fairly shocking. Does this mean we aren't allowed to listen to Lostprophets anymore. Because I liked a few of their songs.

It's absolutely rage inducing and sickening reading that.

If you want to carry on listening to them then it's your choice, just remember what the man behind the voice did.

What a sicko. Depravity at its worst. When he goes on holidays on 19th Dec, I really hope they throw away the key:mad::mad::mad:

And the scumbag 'mothers' who agreed to allow him to and filmed their kids being abused. What a bunch of twisted fcuks.

It's scary to think that such people not only exist as individuals but can conspire to do such things together as if it's normal

Honestly think that in these cases that chemical castration should be an option for the judge.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,383 ✭✭✭✭Birneybau

    That is really fcuked up.

And, going to teach the kids to take drugs?

    The mind boggles.

He'll commit sucide before the year is out.

As for the band, I don't know. I couldn't listen to them and that sick fockers voice anyway.

Watkins sent message describing wanting to "cross the line"

Reply from woman: "A summer of incest and child porn?"

    Watkins: "hell yes baby"

    Flipping hell.

Lots of people elsewhere saying he's obviously sick but that just sounds like plain old fcuking evil

This guy has to have some serious mental issues.

Wouldn't be surprised if he is sentenced to a mental hospital.

There are just no words, what type of a mother offers up her own baby to be raped :(

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 17,380 ✭✭✭✭nacho libre

Watkins sent a text to one of the women saying: "If you belong to me, so does your baby."

In another exchange with a second woman, she messaged Watkins images of her child saying: "She needs to know mummy and daddy don't love her."

    hmm.

    :(

I feel for his parents if they're still around. How can he ever look them in the face after saying things like that

Nightmare for the victim's families and he'll probably not be inside for as long as they would like, but also a nightmare for his bandmates, they'll have to cope with knowing that they were a part of this wretches life. Horrible little man, also the mothers of the children involved are some sort of sub human cretins too.

Do the record companies suspend royalties from the this rat? Don't tell me the albums are still available on iTunes and the like?

All outstanding proceeds should go to some children's charity.

Bring back the death penalty for him. He's responsible for some of the most vile things I've ever heard. And all that stuff with the kids, too.

    This is awful
The man has ruined so many lives

Those poor girls who thought they were going to meet their idol. Who knows what kind of mental anguish this has caused them.

At least he admitted it now and didn't put all the victims through the torture of a trial.

This man needs help, there's obviously something extremely wrong with him.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 4,652 ✭✭✭I am pie

    Help?

He needs to be helped into a prison cell for a very long time.

Not a chance in hell that they'll escape prison. It's not as if he acted on the spur of the moment or out of the blue.. this went on over years, and he obviously planned his actions and knew what the consequences were.

Not saying he doesn't have mental issues, nobody could do such things without having them, but if other child molesters are sent to prison then this guy is definitely going there too.

The band split up last month it seems. The rest of'em probably needed to get contracts and obligations checked out before they could announce it though.

Few rumours passing about that he was on suicide watch a few months ago. Not that it means much of anything really.

You're getting mixed up between the two teenagers he met, and the mothers of the children.

You do understand that the 2 women where acting on this of their own will, without any coercion from this guy, right?

    Edit:

Strike that, just seen this comment on a live feed:
"Both, by their pleas, admitted they have sexually abused their own children at the behest of Ian Watkins.

The mothers of the children were teens when they met him afaik.

Yes he is a scumbag who molested children, but he was one member of a band of 6, 5 of whom didn't molest children. I would sincerely doubt that they can suspend royalties and it is up to apple and other retailers if they will continue to offer their music for sale.

I'd say she means the 16 year old girls he also admitted to having sex with, easy for that to get lost in the list of charges unfortunately :(

This is a horrible case, 11 month old baby ffs. I don't understand how a parent could act like that, and where were the fathers/extended family? Surely if a child has been violently abused like that there must be some warning signs? At least he pleaded guilty to some charges and spared the jury having to watch his sick ****ing videos, being on that jury must be horribly tough going. Also, is "baby rape" seriously the best legal term they can come up with?

Oh right. I read that differently then.

The court heard in Oct 2006, Watkins met up in a hotel with a 16-year-old girl from Boston, whom he had met during during a Lostprophets concert.

She dressed in a schoolgirl's outfit and he filmed their encounter.

In Oct 2008 he filmed himself having sex with another 16-year-old girl, who was also a Lostprophets fan.

It's not very clear from the article whether these were the same women who made their children available to him.

The remaining members can agree to have all their royalties donated to charities

but they probably wont because they're an utterly **** excuse for a band who had a kiddie fiddler as a singer.

There's a 3 year age difference between them now so it is possible and honestly it makes sense. As far as that term applies to anything to do with this case like.

Yes they can agree, but they can't be forced to. They aren't guilty of anything (other than crimes against music) and I would sincerely doubt that they would give up their main source of income. Would you donate your wages to charity if one of your close colleagues was found guilty of the same?
