 how many are they gettng in? if you ordered mid september they should be able to get you one well before xmas

Gonna give them a ring this evening! €400 just sitting in my drawer waiting to be spent. Is 500 not a lot of consoles for one store?

Just an update from Xtra-Vision if anybody was curious. I already posted this on their facebook page:

"Just talking to a guy in Xtra-Vision today and there's an added wrinkle. He told me that they weren't sure if they were enforcing an extra game. But he did say they weren't making people buy extra games if they had already pre-ordered one. That's straight up bull****. His particular branch had no issues because nearly everybody had pre-ordered a game anyway, the few that didn't were planning on getting games anyway. But the problem with Sony is the bundles. Xtra-Vision have X amount of PS4s on order for each store, but they don't know what SKUs Sony are sending them. We all have this nice image of pre-ordering our consoles and getting our games seperately but the reality is the majority of the units Sony will be sending are probably going to be hardware bundles. So for example the Knack PS4 bundle for 440 euro I think. There's a Killzone one as well. As far as I know, Xtra-Vision were able to specifically pre order the Mega Bundles, but other than that they have no idea what's coming in the door. It could realistically happen that you go in on Friday only to be told that they only have Knack bundles left AND you have to purchase an additional game. Because Knack or Killzone is packaged in with the PS4 we won't have a choice. There could be other hard bundles but none that I know of. This is why Xtra-Vision have been shifty on bundle deals because they won't know themselves until Friday morning. They deservedly are taking **** for making customers buy games with their Xbox Ones. But this mystery surrounding bundles is completely on Sony and you shouldn't be ripping the head off some assistant because they only have bundles with games you don't want. You either have to take it or complain to Sony themselves because they're the ones trying to maximise software sales by throwing them together and giving the retailer and customer not only no choice, but not even a heads up."

    Cheers!

Not sure what the above has to do with XV demanding that you buy an additional game before you can get what you already paid for?
PPL have ordered bundles, and I'm sure that XV won't know until late on how many of which they are going to get. Once they get the delivery simply count the amount of each bundle and give them to the ppl on the prepaid list in descending order.

How forcing ppl to buy additional games in any way deals with a logistics issue is lost on me I'm afriad.

Because people were preordering what Sony call the "solvus" SKU. Which is just the base console with no games included. But apparentely all of the Solvus SKUs went to North America and we won't get them in Europe until the second wave. So for example I pre-ordered the PS4 and Battlefield 4 seperately. When I get in there, the guy could tell me "We don't have any base PS4 bundles. You can either have Knack or Killzone for 440-450 euro". I don't want either of them but I have no choice as they are literally in the box as a Sony bundle. So if I had a budget of, say 465 euro to cover me for my console and Battlefield 4 I would then be expected to fork out 515 euro. Not to mention that even though I've been told otherwise, IF Xtra-Vision demand that I purchase an additional game on top of that like some of the Xbox One buyers seem to suggest I'll be spending close to 600 euro on two games I don't want just to get my console and Battlefield.

The guy in the shop told me that Solvus bundles are non-existent. This is what happened with that chain in the UK, I can't remember the name. They were taking orders for the base console and were then told they weren't getting any. They automatically had to upgrade everyone to a bundle that they didn't ask for. And even worse in the case of Xtra-Vision, they don't know what bundles they'll actually be getting outside of the Mega Bundles. The guy told me that they only got one Forza bundle and the rest were FIFA on Friday. What if more than one person wanted Forza? Tough ****. But at least they don't have to pay extra for their bundles. So basically I could walk in with my 465 euro that I've saved up for for months and be told I'm a hundred euro shy.

You are mixing up two different scenarios.

The issues with XB1 launch in XV was that when people went to collect whatever bundle (or just the console) that they paid for they were told they need to buy an addtional game above what they had ordered and wouldn't get their product unless they did.

The solvus issue is different. If XV don't receive the order you placed, they are trying to facilitate you by giving you another product (a KV dundle for example). This will equate to a higher cost. If you then want BF4 then of course you need to buy that as well. You could also choose to wait until the bundle that you ordered arrives.

The 1st scenarios is extortion and probable illegal. The second is trying to help solve a problem so that their customers get something rather than nothing.

Not all stores have problems getting the Solus. As I said before after speaking to my local GAME and smyth stores they are getting a few in. As I haveb been guarenteed a solus for release in smyths. Nipping in today or tomorrow though to find out more.

Shop I'm buying from apparently only has solus and KZ Bundle, totalling 100 as far as I know, so I doubt there's a shortage

So we agree then. What they did with the Xbox One was extremely dodgy to say the least. And I agree that with the Solvus it isn't strictly Xtra-Vision's fault. But the point is I'm still being asked to pay forty or fifty euro for a product I don't want. Obviously if this happens Battlefield has gone out the window. I'll take Killzone if I have to, but I'll be really annoyed if I'm stuck with Knack. Xtra-Vision could have at least informed us earlier. What I've found out is just from badgering them. They had no plans to tell me at all. That's poor customer relations and they should have made it clear as soon as they knew that chances are your pre-order won't be available. There's no reason to believe that they won't make PS4 buyers buy a second accessory. So my original scenario still stands. I could still potentially be looking at having to get a bundle I don't want and a game I don't want just to get Battlefield. In which case I'd have to cancel it altogether because I don't have that sort of money that I can pull out of my arse within the two days notification they give me.

They are taking names to add to a list. I missed the boat to ring & pre order but I am on a list if they get additional stock.

Not optimistic but if they do ring me, ill will keep all posted on this. Has anyone got a call from BT who is on the reserve list?

I have paid in full and they said they will call again during this week when the stock has arrived to inform us of when to come in etc. Im guessing they don't want 30-40 gamers steaming in at 9am :D

You could try Tesco or Argos on release day. Ring brown Thomas if your in Dublin or Cork they might be getting more stock in. The earlier your on the list the better chance you have. Amazon might also be guaranteeing Xmas consoles still.

    Likewise, I did the same

Went into BT on Sat and preordered a solus, paid in full. It will be ready to collect this Friday

The only thing you can do is start ringing around I'm afraid.

It looks like your best bet is to inquire about the knack bundle as this seems to be the one stores have that no one wants, so you may find some stores that are still trying to get rid of those.

Beyond that, you are taking a chance on Argos or Tesco's on the day.

The manager in my local Xtravision was able to tell me 6 weeks ago what they were getting regards bundles,it seems they are changing their story to suit after coming under a serious backlash after the shenanigans with Xbox customers.
    Screw Xbox customers,blame Microsoft,screw PS4 customers,blame Sony.That's Xtravision's story & they are sticking to it.

Indeed, it is gonna be interesting on Thursday night, XtraVision is just across the road from Gamestop in town, know a mate of mine will raise hell over there if he is forced to buy a game, he will literally jump the counter and take his, he has it all paid off as well.
