The solus and the bundles were split 50/50 at one point, but now it is more like 30/70 in favour of the bundles, been said on Neogaf for weeks now and was told the same thing in my Gamestop, that is why some people who ordered later are getting their console on launch day, mainly because people did not want to take the Knack bundle.

Also the US never got bundles which are just upgraded existing stock anyway, they were never new stock, so they will have got the vast majority of the solus consoles. I think that is the reasoning most people have said, plus they are making more money on the bundles also. According to another poster, he does not think XtraVision are even getting any solus consoles in and they will all be bundles.

I think they handled that a bit poorly, surely people that had pre-orders already should have been contacted about the bundles first.

I was on some mailing list and got an email around 1900 on the 14th about the bundles. Had the mega bundle ordered less than 2 hours later.

got a call from smyths ennis road limerick during the week saying i can collect my console from midnight on Thursday, I pre-ordered in june have mega bundle incoming

Ordered mine in Gamestop (Blanch) back in may but have had no call yet , getting worried now.

Will have to pop in tomorrow and see where I stand

ah right thanks for that. Cleared a bit up so obviously my local game and smyths won't have that problem according to them anyway hehe. But makes sense that's some some stores are only picking up bundles. Will just ned to wait on them to call to get proper confirmation.

They don't but it does rule out the lame excuse that XV staff were telling customers that it was a directive from Sony.

The person who replyed is a customer service agent who has a handling time and wouldn't have a clue who XV are.

The XV staff who said it was Microsoft and Sony were just trying to get rid of a challenging customer by not blaming the company they work for.

The XV head execs put their staff in a horrible position and lies will be told to defuse situations

rang gamestop (tralee) earlier conversation lasted about 5 minutes asked the lad if i'd have a ps4 to collect this week and he said the manager would ring me back tuesday

It depends, you will not get the solus console till after Christmas and it is the same story for some of the bundles but not all of them, but I think you can still get certain bundles before Christmas, best thing to do is pre-order with them and see what email they send you out about upgrading, they will not charge you till it is shipped.

it says it cant guarantee before xmass bot once its in your basket it will say delivery estimste
between the 8th and 15th of december

ive ordered just the solus console at XV and as far as im aware il be getting it, if they try to make me buy something else or leave it till the last min to tell me i have to upgrade to a bundle, i will just walk in the back room and take what is rightfully mine...and if they dont have the solus il take a bundle but wont pay another penny than the £349 ive already paid...c*nts

I ordered the Knack bundle 2 days ago, and then promptly called Amazon. They said ''100%'' it will arrive before X-Mas.

Just spoke to an Argos employee in Santry about pre-orders. He told me PS4s will be sold first come, first serve on the day. However, he also suggested to keep an eye on the Argos site from the 27th. They may allow you to reserve a console online. No guarantees though.

Agreed, it is definitely an XV head office decision, the problem is that Sony don't seem to care that they are doing it. I guess I had hoped either Microsoft or Sony might intervene on behalf of their customers.

General consensus seems to be that the knack bundles are easier to get, no one seems to want them so if you are told you will have that one by christmas, i would tend to believe them.

You would be better off tweeting some high up person in Sony. They might escalate it to be looked into

Just spoke to smyths carrickmines. As of yet. They have rung no one and will be doing so by Wednesday. Was told my July preorder pretty much sorted.

I keep hounding them for info on the release day, they arnt saying anything until next week.
