good man.. I have the gun there but they don't bother me at the moment.. im planning on getting 20 good ewes to clean out after cows so maybe if I lost a few lambs to them id be more inclined to shoot them..

Every fox is a target here. Lost 8 or 9 lambs to them this Spring.

Seeing as everyone else is putting theirs up, I have a large project under way here :D

    Photo 1.
Specialised digging equipment bought in for the job. I had to buy it in just for this job as I'm told there are not many people around anymore who know how to operate complicated excavating tools such as the fine example below. I have not decided yet, but I may sell on DD after the job is complete, keep an eye out.

    Photo 2.
With the sections cut I then had to haul the spoil away from the project area. This task required niche skills of providing a lubricated (read wet) pathway and plenty of forward momentum delivered by Dunlop shod shanks mare.

    Photo 3.
God, I am informed, has declined to make any new land. So, I decided I would. Naturally this will cause waves on my SFP maps in the Spring, but needs must. On wards and upwards.

    Photo 4.
Finished for the morning. 700 yards of finely crafted brand spanking new watercourse :D

But you found soil to die for! I'll exchange a few loads of it for a few loads of peat if you want :D

I'm sure the owner would take you up on that offer. He said he's never hit rock in his 40years working his farm. He said he thought he hit rock 8 or 9 years ago when digging out for a slatted tank, but is was only a large boulder.

I can't even imagine that. I remember someone talking to me about foundations before, sure just go into the field and scoop out the soil and work away.

Had to explain about rock breakers, and explosives :D

Oh yeah, I know of several sites had to be blasted locally for houses.

No. Came back from Newcastle last night. (Mental city) doing loads of work in NI and some in England and Scotland.

Oh, you have the "double hard bastard" rock up yer direction. We only have the "bastard of a rock" type of stuff.

Yeah, we had to be stubborn and go one step farther ;)

what you should do now is fence off the drain, prevent cattle closing it in

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,171 ✭✭✭✭Muckit

Yes I agree. A good day driving stakes with a Mallet is what he needs..... be running back crying to use the spade and dig more drains!!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,422 ✭✭✭just do it

Sounds like you need a spike with a diamond head to make a hole for stakes!

This is a heifer I bought as a weanling. I was going to sell her before she calves because according to ICBF she is only 1 star for maternal and terminal. She is making a nice bag for a 1 star heifer. She is incalf to a blonde
