Wilder is one of the biggest frauds in the sport.

He will be KO'd when he meets someone half decent.

I am not sure how you can be so certain with that assertion. Has he been badly wobbled or hurt in his career to date? If not, then you can't know how he will react when he meets the elite level.

Howard, when you talk yourself up as being the saviour of heavyweight boxing, you are going to attract criticism when your achievements at that level are underwhelming.
it is true he did well as a cruiserweight, he beat a long standing champion in his own backyard, after being flattened in the fourth round, he does deserve praise for that, but there is not much to praise him for in the heavyweight divison.
he beat poor opposition, spun these victories as if he had beaten top level opposition, which got him a fight with the Klitschkos. i will credit him for being a world class marketer in his heavyweight boxing career, but in the ring he ultimately demonstrated he was an above average fighter, not the all conquering, world class heavyweight fighter he claimed he was.

Of course he over exaggerated his abilities, countless boxers do that, is part of the marketing and promotion.

He was a very good boxer. Far from great. A lot of people just hate his personality so underrate his boxing ability.

I don't underrate his ability. I just don't see the point of inflating his achievements as a Heavyweight. It really has nothing to do with disliking his personality, if that was the case i'd be trying to minimize the achievements of quite a few of my favourite boxers.
Haye was a decent fighter, but not the great fighter some claim him to be.

It's not a case for me of underestimating Fury. It's HW boxing, and that means one punch can end it. Fury is no Willie Pep in the defense department, and Wilder is a big and strong dude who has heavy clubbing hands. If Fury had a real sturdy chin I think he could out box Wilder. Fury doesn't instill that chin confidence in me, and I see him being tagged clean and heavy and not surviving.

Wilder is the very definition of crude, and some of the names on his resume (even in the last couple of years) have been shameful. His hyping has all the hallmarks of the Americans trying to manufacture a "world champ" to glamourise the WBC title when Vitali calls it a day.

Wilder has a very questionable chin himself. Fury is very limited himself and it would be a hugely entertaining fight, the terms who will land first will be bandied about for it id say.

Neither man looks any great shakes, but if Fury could shore up his defence then he has too much for Wilder.

I agree that Wilder will probably KO Fury, as Tyson is a knockout waiting to happen. However, I don't know how you can say that Wilder is world class when on paper,Audley Harrison was his toughest opponent. For someone with 30 fights, his skills should be a lot more refined than they actually are.

He only started boxing at 20 so he could do with a bit more refining (which kind of explains why he has been brought along so slowly)

I dont think people underestimate fury at all he talks a great game but lets be honest wilder will connect and we all know the power he carries. Fury simply wont be able to use his natural attributes to smother wilder although while not being quite as tall isnt a small heavy by any stretch.

Be interesting to see the bookies odds on this fight.

Don't forget that there are question marks over Wilder's chin too.

HW division not looking too bad now with Perez, Wilder, Pulev, Boytsov and Fury climbing the ranks. Then you have guys who have established their level like Chisora, Povetkin, Adamek, Helenius, Solis, Stiverne, Mitchell, Price. There are a few dangerous gatekeepers around like Thompson, Lucas Browne and Banks. Then Wlad on top in a league of his own right now.

Boytsov vs Leapai this Saturday, should catch it before Froch Groves and then staying up til all hours for Pac Rios.

Yes he was knocked down a couple of years ago by a new york taxi driver (Harold Sconiers) who took the fight with less than a weeks notice and he had lost 15 out of his previous 18 fights before he fought wilder.

I think his chin and stamina have never been tested properly as hesconstantly fighting human punchbags and gets to end the fights quickly before his opponent gets a chance to land properly on him.

I Think Fury is durable enough and should knock him out if he catches him

First time posting on here, love the fight game so will be popping in and out.

Looking forward to the Froch v Groves fight this weekend. Under card is promising too. I can only see a Groves win. I genuinely think Groves has got under his skin and will be hunted down. Stoppage in and around round eight for me.

By the way what does Boxnation cost? I have Sky so paying for another sports channel could have me in the dog house until the new year!

In fairness Haye wasted his time. That's three fights in a row Haye ducked. Fury just needs a big fight to get him back focused. I don't even like fury most of the time but this is heart breaking for him.

    Fury's uncle/trainer denies retirement claims

I think it's just frustration from Fury. Get Wilder in the ring & he'll be there (until he is KO'ed)

What exactly is Tyson Fury gonna do if he can't box?

guarantee he has a fight by March

Deontay Wilder is a hype job. He hasn't fought a Top 50 heavyweight yet.

    A glassed jawed fraud.

He has power in his right hand but if he doesn't get Fury out of there early Tyson's experience against well matched opponents will come to the fore.

If you want to see the type of opponents Wilder has been fighting take a look at this:

Jeez the state of that and yet everybody completely dismisses Tyson furys chance of winning this fight.
