I just think it's far, FAR more socially acceptable and even encouraged for women to be 'bi-curious' and explore their sexuality and it's then considered "hot", "adventurous"

    Amen to that

I do find it very hard to believe but it was in the indo so it must be true.

I've heard of men who are not necessarily gay or bi having sexual encounters with pre and post op transsexuals. That's where things start to become a bit confusing, because some of those people look a lot like genuine women. Although, in my opinion, if it's with a pre op then the guy must have some sort of bi tendencies.

Pug I think you confuse yourself tbh :D

    This.

General election polls are run on sample sizes of 500-1000 people. You'd be very surprised how quickly a question with a simple answer (like this) converges to a high accuracy and confidence.

The poll in AH for the last referendum was closer to the actual result than the red c etc. ones.

I think unclear would have been a better word. Unclear because the man is not attracted to men as such, but he's still willing to sleep with a pre op transsexual.
But technically that's still a gay experience.

One in four is a lot, even if you take bisexuals into account. But who cares anyway though? This has no impact on my life or anyone else's.

I've borrowed Leslie Nielsen's steel shorts from that Naked Gun prison shower scene, so I'm safe. :pac:

    * I thought The Naked Gun was hilarious in a very juvenile way.

There was a documentary on a week or so ago with Stephen Fry telling some homophobic African preacher type guy that he has never had anal sex in his life, it was brilliantly done. He was saying if he is so concerned about anal sex he should be targeting heterosexual couples who Fry claimed were more likely to be engaging in anal sex. Fry kept making comments like "my god, you're totally obsessed with penises and anal sex", yer man didn't know what to do, big confused head on him.

I suppose it is possible, lots of strange phenomenon out there. One time I was in hospital and they brought a fellah in one night with his "pal",turns out that a gay lad met a straight lad in the pub,got chatting, went back to a hotel room for hanky-panky and inserted a 14 inch dildo all the way up the "straight" lads jacksie. It had to be surgically removed.

I would argue that the straight lad is fairly bent.

When did we go back in time to the 1970s

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

No I dont think pug is confused. I've had sex with a married man who identifies as straight. Sexual Orientation Identity and Gender Identity are much more complex than binary fixed identities.

Is the lower rate for people in their thirties because of changing attitudes, or are they suggesting it 'wears off' over time? :pac:
Were people who've had no experience whatsoever included? I'd imagine that would skew the figures somewhat if a proportion of the no vote was only there because of a lack of opportunity.

    Well he obviously isn't.

So if a man has a girlfriend when he's younger and then comes out when he's a bit older he's obviously not gay?

    Huh?

No idea what your trying to say there.

If he comes out then of course he is gay, or maybe bisexual.

But he's had sex with girls so by your logic he's not gay, or am I misunderstanding you?

Well if he had sex with girls as well as fellas he would be bisexual, wouldn't he?

I dunno you'd have to ask him :D what I'm saying is that just because somebody has or has had same sex experiences doesn't mean they're gay or bi. People try things out and don't like them or just get a notion after a few drinks or whatever, doesn't give anyone the right to call them liars for saying they're straight, just coz you're standing in a barn doesn't make you a horse like. There's probably hundreds of gay people in this country alone with children from previous marriages, it doesn't mean they're bisexual.

Loads of teenage men have experimented with other teenage men, no big deal. It doesn't mean they're gay. I'd say the poll isn't far off the real figure.

Not necessarily GG. Many gay and lesbian people will have had heterosexual experiences, but that doesn't mean they're heterosexual or even bisexual. There's a lot more to it than merely the sexual act. There are probably just as many gay and lesbian virgins as there are heterosexual virgins, proportionally speaking obviously. Then there are asexuals, who have no interest in sex with either men or women.

Point being, a person can have sex with another person or persons of the same sex, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're automatically gay/lesbian/bisexual.

So you think that if a straight man has too many beers he could end up in bed with another fella and be 100% straight?
