I found a site that links to most reviews for Knack, reviewers seem to be underwhelmed. Even the better reviews are not all that good.

€90 for my xbox slim 250GB, they must be kidding, adverts with a few games and controllers and you well fetch €200 easy

They're offering you 140 when you trade it in towards an Xbox one

Damn, I was looking forward to that but no way I'm paying €65. I guess I'll wait till it's cheap and try it then.

Unbelieavable -- just been on to Amazon as other pre-orders getting EDDs who ordered months after me, to be told:
"thanks for confirming. All orders that was sent the survey should have been updated by now. This one must have been overlooked.
I am sorry if this would cause confusion. I'll contact the appropriate team for you to get your order updated asap"

How many others have been "overlooked"??

These reviews are putting me off the console for now (was only interested in knack and KZ). I think I'll just give my preorder to my brother instead and wait for some decent titles to be released!

Would be war if that happened, the list in my store is up on 15 pages now and not even half of those will get a launch console.
No store would want to take the risk that people wouldnt find out, any extra consoles will be offered to the next person on the list until they get to the end.

You keep stating the stock as absolute fact. Unless you're a CEO of Sony I don't think you can say for certain there won't be any till March.

All will soon be revealed soon enough though.

Even if there is going to be shortages... IF.... It doesn't matter if the lists are 15 pages long all over. A good 50% of those people WON'T have the money on launch day.
We're talking about a male market primarily based of 12-40, with the average being somewhere between 18-30.
This sector of society isn't exactly the most reliable for high funds. It's a substantial outlay and I'd guess only a small portion would have saved the money and another small section with instant access to that kind of cash.

When this happens, retailers will pass the consoles to buyers with cash, if there was a small deposit layed down, this will be passed back to the customer who pre ordered.
I don't think any shop would risk selling pre-orders off the shelf on launch day, but from day two I can see people being overlooked for cash sales.

If you're talking abut a situation where there isn't enough stock for the shelves or for pre orders, then a shops good will gesture of putting aside a unit changes very quickly.
Pre Orders are usually taken from a separate batch so it's no bother to the shop to have some sitting aside as they can sell instantly over the counter and if it's not picked up it can be added to the batch.
If the shortages are true, people on the pre order lists will be overlooked VERY quickly for over the counter sales.

If you have a launch day ordered and can pay, you'll get your unit but I'll also bet if you have E400 the second day of release you'll get one too.

Basically what I'm saying is, in a shortage situation the only people who will get consoles are those without pre orders and cash and those with pre-orders for launch and who purchase on the day.
Any people who don't turn up on launch days will be passed to shelf for day 2 and anyone who was promised a unit closer to xmas will continue to wait till those periods instead of bumping people up as they'll have countless cash offers arriving without ringing people further down the list in the hope they come into buy.

Would it be hard to get it in Tesco or Argos on release date ?

Why do you think a store would put a console on the shelf on day 2 when they have a list full of people waiting for it? That console is guaranteed to be sold, the store is not going to lose money on it, so why would they piss off customers who have pre-ordered it months ago to give it to somebody who just walked in? Makes zero sense.

    Harvey Norman - Etiquette Question
Now that Amazon are fking me about, if HN have stated they're not doing a midnight launch, what are the chances of walking into the shop and going to till with a deposit-paid pre-order receipt without having to queue for very long? Or do we suspect there'll be a large queue of people hoping to pick one up on the day without pre-order and me having to queue behind them?

Or as people have mentioned on here, will I be actually walking into a Killzone?

If you have a have a receipt you should be in and out quick, they should have a big sign saying you will not get one with out a valid pre-order, but a lot of of people could turn up thinking they are entitles to a PS4 even if they did not pre order, will be hassle in quite a few stores I would say.

Oh you will have people waiting, for people who did not pre order it is their only chance to get one this side of Christmas, if you are near a 24 hour Tesco it will be crazy, although both stores will not know how many they are getting till the launch week.

Hold on! I have never stated stock levels would be short as a fact, I have posted both sides of the equation, but my quote above was in response to someone saying that even if there was a shortage they would walk into a store and pick one up at the expense of someone who had pre ordered.

I agree that some people who pre ordered wont be able to afford them when it comes to the day, ( I havent a clue where you are getting 50% from ) but IF there are shortages, there is absolutely no way any shop will offer a console to someone who did not pre order when they have any number of people who paid a deposit. They will go down through the list and ask each and every one of them if they still want one. Only if and when they get to the bottom of the list and they still have consoles left will they put them on the shelves. It is astonishing that you believe any different.
