PS4 Pre-Order Thread! Where are you getting yours?

All this talk about Smyths not getting many consoles has got me thinking. If this turns out to be true, would I be better off cancelling my preorder (will I get my €20 deposit back or is that lost in the wind?) and order online instead?

I've a 26th of August preorder, already know I'm not the first batch, probably not even the second. Would it be quicker to place an order on Amazon now instead of waiting for Smyths to contact me?

Place the order with Amazon regardless and you can cancel it if you get one from Smyths. Amazon don't take payment until the item is dispatched.

I guess it comes down to whether or not the deposit is refundable (afraid I can't help you there, I never thought to ask).

If Smyths have told you that you will not be on the first batch and can make no guarantee about the second batch then it might be worth chancing an order with Amazon as well. At least there is no deposit there and you can cancel any time you like as long as they haven't started preparing your delivery.

I'd say it's just a standard one - 1m to 1.5m. Won't be much longer.

I know it is a big deal to some to get their console on the launch date and others let me put it another way, need it for Christmas as Santa needed to pre-order it given the Elves have been very busy and find it hard to meet demand...

For the Killzone megabundle from Amazon.de I ordered it says:

"Please note that this product will not be released on 29.11.2013. The exact release date has not yet been confirmed by the manufacturer but is ahead of Christmas. Customers with a delivery address in Germany, up to and including 30 September 2013 have pre-ordered, the product obtained on the release date. All pre-orders made after 30 September 2013 are expected to be delivered until after Christmas, but no later than the end of January 2014. We inform you of the exact delivery date (if known) by e-mail and in your order summary."

I will have the PS4 games from the buy 2 get 1 free amazon.de did, games expected around the 4th to 5th of December.
Got The Last Of Us to pass the time, something I have been looking forward to and no console till next year it will make up for it.

Not sure about the size, I would imagine it is the same as the standard PS3 cable but as far as I am aware the connector for charging the DS4 is the same as the standard mobile phone connector so you might already have a longer cable lying around the place.

Yeah, the micro. Have nothing really, might take a run into the Euro shop and see what they have, even in the line of usb extension cable.:)

Mine too!!!! But knowing my luck, my DS4 will have little to no power when i get it and there's no way i'm holding on for any longer than i have to for to play it.

Try Amazon, it will be your best bet to get one before Christmas at this stage, after that you are looking anywhere between January and March.

Yea I think their first batch is now sold out. I think they are just trying to entice customers by saying they will get a 2nd batch before chrimbo.

This is actually not a bad deal to order everything separate would cost more with gamestop so if you are interested in the extra controller killzone and the camera this is an option

Still good to place a order with them anyway, you will not get charged till it ships, you may get lucky, even if you do not get one, you will get it faster than brick and mortar stores next year.

Sorry mate, looks like that is the killzone bundle without the extra controller and camera so not a good deal at all.
