Ive been going with this squad for a bit now,0.7 in the bank and 2 free transfers

Last three weeks Ive got over 60 points each week.

Sessegnon I brought in last week just for the Palace game,a one week punt,Ive stuck with RVP he beginning to come good again in
    the past few weeks

    Mig,Davis

    Coleman,Zab,Shaw,Mert,Ward

    Ozil,Mirallas,Morrison,Whittingham,Sessegnon

    RVP,Lambert,Sturridge

    What do ye think lads?

Sorry but I think that's a poor enough team.

    Defence is fine

Midfield is a disaster - In Miralles and Morrison you have two decent but unpredictable players, Miralles the more promising. Morrison is good cheap option. So with those two already in the rest of you midfield needs to be unreal...instead you have two nothing players? You basically have 4 players in there who would be 5th choice midfielders in a good team.

Up front is ok but given the cheapness of your midfield I dunno where all your money is gone. You should be looking to upgrade Sturridge to Suarez and Lambert to Lukaku (possibly Remy) i'd say, much better long term potential.

    McGregor
    Jääskeläinen

    Baker
    Terry
    Reid
    Ivanovic
    Clyne

    Ramsey
    Brady
    Özil
    Barkley
    Januzaj

    Giroud
    Agüero
    Suárez

Any opinions, strong weak? good for the long run?

My immediate plan is to get Oscar or Hazard in for either Barkley or Januzaj. Have £1.8 in the bank and Suarez is in this week for Sturridge.

I want to pick three of Fonte (home to Hull), Dawson (home to Newcastle), Coleman (away to Palace) and Reid (away to Norwich). I'm leaning towards benching Reid but Newcastle's strikers worry me for the Spurs game.

Which ONE would you play from these 3?

Turner (avl), Sessegnon (che), Brady (sou)

Turner - Villa struggling to score but surely they won't blank again?

Sessegnon - Can't see Chelsea conceding but if they do high chance Sess is involved.

Brady - Can't see Southampton conceding but he only needs a dodgy set piece.

I'd be tempted by Brady, Turner could backfire if Villa decide to start scoring again and Sessegnon isn't on form.

Reid is West Ham? Think I read somewhere that most of their clean sheets have been away. Based on that I would go West Ham.

However gut instinct says bench Reid as Norwich just have to show a bit of fight and drive after last weeks drubbing at Man City. Palace may score against Everton, but they are awful, and Coleman is a threat going forward.

I agree. I'm playing Coleman this week hoping for attacking returns more than a clean sheet.

I also think Norwich will be eager to bounce back in support of Hughton so I'd bench Reid.

Cheers for the advice, think I'll have a crisis for GW12 as they'll all be playing Liverpool Chelsea Man City and Arsenal and my 5th defender is Whittaker who'll be away to Newcastle (if he plays).

Whittaker lined out in midfield for Norwich at the weekend I think so may be one to watch and keep. That's where they showed him as playing before the game on MoTD anyway.

Yeah I noticed that, still only played one half though. I'll see how he fares this weekend.

Well Jonny Howson's getting a goal or 2 so no point in playing Reid :pac:

Also Reid is part of the New Zealand team playing Mexico in the World cup play-offs. A lot of travelling will be done so he may not even play the following week, or he might but could be fatigued at the very least.

When Redmond's back fit then I'd imagine he'll play, and when Snodgrass is back one of reddz or pilko will be dropped. But Whitts could play this weekend.

The following week West Ham are playing Chelsea so would be looking to bench him anyway.

With all this talk of Howson I get the feeling someone might be getting a little jealous. Tense times ahead in the Norwich dressing room?

    ***ASSISTANCE URGENTLY REQUIRED***

Havent had a good week in about 2 months with more Red arrows than the RAF.

    Team is below:

    Mignolet - (Davis)
    Coleman-Zabelta-Fonte-Terry - (Turner - Cardiff)
    Townsend - Ozil - Oscar - (Whittingham) - (Nolan)
    Lukaku-Giroud-Sturrdige

    Thoughts/Plans/Ideas/Help!!

Possibility of Walcott back against Utd but I wouldn't bank on it.

    Aguero and/or Suarez up front
West Ham seem to be getting a lot of clean sheets as do Spurs so Dawson or Reid at the back......not sure what fixtures are like so check that out first.
I have gone Cazorla in MF instead of Ozil/Ramsey.

Not at all, Mickey got a nice rest last weekend ahead of his busy schedule coming up. Jonny's just there for a bit of moral support :pac:

    @slingerz

    IMO

Nolan needs to go for a cheapie

You need to upgrade to get aguero, suarez or roo. (Actually in that order). Maybe two over time.

Your team is actually fine other than that. Captaincy is so important. Suarez+Aguero last two weeks. Your team has no obvious, shout out loud, captaincy choices despite looking nice and solid at a glance (I include ozil in this!)

    My team currently is:

    GK: Mignolet, Daniels
DF: Davies, Koscielny, Dawson, Terry, Shaw
MF: Morrison, Ozil, Oscar, Januzaj, Brady
    FW: Aguero, Rooney, Sturridge

Transfer made for the week but what do people think I need to improve on? Think of downgrading Ozil to get in Suarez but not 100% sure on that one yet.

Suarez for me is the best striker in the PL right now. It's a close contest between him and Aguero but he is just edging it IMO.

I think you need to get him in at whatever cost.

you'll have to put up your subs as well but you seem to have too much invested in defence, midfield isn't up to much but you could easily argue that Ramsey and Brady are worth a bit more than what they are priced at, as I said we'd need to see the subs, Coleman as captain is a mistake??
You could have 5 clean sheets for defence this weekend but who would you expect points from in the front 5 except Suarez?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,274 ✭✭✭✭FHFC

Thoughts on Mertesacker against united? Arsenal seem to have stopped shipping silly ones in the last couple of tough games....had planned to sell him but may hold now for a while. After benching his 6 points last week should I consider starting him for Townsend or at least first sub ahead of Brady? Merts nearly scored a header tonight too.

Any other thoughts for next few weeks?

    Mignolet

    Coleman - Walker - Chico

    Ozil - Ramsey - Hazard - Sessegnon

    Lukaku - Suarez - Aguero

    Turner, Brady, Chester

    No hits.

    Good to go?

After 2 or three weeks of changes finally happy with my team-

    Myhill
    Coleman Clyne Johnson
    hazard Ramsay Ozil Januzai
    Suarez Aguero Rooney

    Sub: Boruc, Vlarr, Brady, Chester

Januzai is rotated with vlarr/ brady. Boruc and Myhill rotate well too!
