That's a shame, one of the few people in the show I actually care about. At least they're not killing her off and the door is being left open for her return.

I wish people used spoilers instead of just stating things. But I guess it does say spoilers in the thread title.

I do like her character(most of the time) but its getting a wee bit boring with her leaving(BIG exit) then she returns(again) and repeat!:-)

A lots of Eastenders news. Mostly good news but I am Gutted that Simon Ashdown will be stepiing down at end of the year!

First picture of Danny Dyer's Carter family
EastEnders has debuted the first picture of the Carter family.

The addition of the Carter children, Johnny and Nancy, has also been confirmed, with Sam Strike and Maddy Hill joining the cast of the BBC soap.

Parents Mick (Danny Dyer) and Linda (Kellie Bright) will arrive in Albert Square later this year to take over the Queen Vic.

Speaking about his casting, Strike said: ''I'm really excited to be joining EastEnders and the Carter family. They're all really strong characters and I can't wait to see what EastEnders has planned for us all.

"I've grown up watching Danny and Kellie, both of whom are lovely, so to be playing their son is kind of surreal."

Hill added: "I feel incredibly privileged to have been given such an amazing opportunity and I can't wait to start work with such a talented cohort of actors."

The family will join Shirley (Linda Henry) and Tina (Luisa Bradshaw-White) in Walford. Bradshaw-White will make her first appearance as Tina next month.

Dominic Treadwell-Collins, executive producer on the serial drama, said: "My team have worked incredibly hard over the past few months to create the Carters - a contemporary British family with cracks, knocked edges and a touch of darkness that is going to make them very special to watch.

"A family of strong characters who love and hate each other, all rooted in the best traditions of EastEnders," he teased.

    Linda Henry: 'I considered quittin
astEnders star Linda Henry has admitted that she came close to quitting the soap this year.

The actress, who has been playing Shirley Carter since 2006, was persuaded to stick around when she heard that Dominic Treadwell-Collins had been appointed as executive producer.

Henry told Inside Soap: "I had a very quiet year and was considering leaving, but I got a call to say Dominic Treadwell-Collins was taking over the show.

"He's so exciting and passionate about EastEnders, and now everything is buzzing."

Shirley could become more central than ever in the next year as Treadwell-Collins has decided to bring in several members of her family.

Luisa Bradshaw-White has been cast as Shirley's sister Tina, while Danny Dyer has signed up to play her brother Mick - the Queen Vic's new landlord.

Henry added: "It means a lot that Shirley is going to be a big part of the action."

    EastEnders' reveals production team changes

EastEnders bosses have today (October 29) confirmed some key behind-the-scenes changes as the BBC soap enters a new era.

Following the arrival of Dominic Treadwell-Collins as executive producer, Digital Spy can exclusively reveal that there have been new appointments and promotions within the show's senior team.

Alison Davis has recently taken on the post of Series Producer at EastEnders, while Alexander Lamb has been named as the programme's new Story Producer.

Davis already has strong ties to EastEnders as she started her career as a script editor on the show. She later secured senior positions on a number of other dramas, including Family Affairs, The Bill, Casualty, HolbyBlue and the award-winning legal drama North Square.

This is the third time that Davis has returned to EastEnders. Her previous stints on the soap have seen her work on a number of acclaimed storylines, including Joe Wicks's schizophrenia, Grant and Tiffany's relationship, and the love affair between Cindy Beale and David Wicks - which culminated in Cindy hiring a hitman to shoot Ian.

Lamb also has history with EastEnders as he joined the programme in 2006 as a Story Editor after a previous stint as a storyliner on Emmerdale. He was later promoted to the post of Story Associate at the Walford drama.

Lamb is credited with helping to create the Masood family and Heather Trott, devising the return of Bianca with the Whitney and Tony paedophile storyline, and also working on the twists and turns in Ian Beale's stalker plot.

He has been away from EastEnders over the past year, during which time he worked as a script producer and producer on Waterloo Road.

Digital Spy can also reveal that Simon Ashdown will be stepping down from his position as EastEnders' Series Consultant at the end of the year to focus on other BBC drama projects.

Show bosses are not planning to replace Ashdown in the role. Instead, a group of core writers - including some new and returning faces - will be led by Treadwell-Collins and his team.

Finally, highly-established members of the EastEnders production team have been promoted, with Sharon Batten now working as Senior Producer and Manpreet Dosanjh as Script Producer.

I am so gutted that Simon Ashdown is leaving, few of his lastest were not he top work, I hoping they bring Sarah Forgot here surname, she was really good writer as well.
