Almost a barge. Great find I'd say. Getting it back on the road shouldn't be a hassle..?

I presume not since it has a fresh NCT and is declared off the road, so everything seems in order on that score. That's a huge amount of car for the money...!

Would I be wrong in thinking nearly 1k for a near 20 year old Peugeot is quite expensive?
Or maybe I'm just cynical :)

looks dear if you just look at the year (1995) in isolation.

But the car looks okay - has a years NCT (which is in itself worth something) is diesel - with low mileage (if genuine - and ive no reason to suspect it isn't).

And I would say that while 950 seems dear - the car would probably end up being bought for less.

Ive seen worse in the overpriced stakes tbh.

Think if I needed a car at this sort of money in a hurry* - id go and have a look on the basis that if its in decent order - then at this price range - a 1995 car in good condition is better then a 2000 car in poor/average condition.

Thing to note though - is that from what I can see it says 1.9 diesel - ie no mention of turbo - meaning that its going to be on the slow side.

    * - Im not in a hurry so sticking with what I want from the outset - Mk 6 Fiesta, 05 era Mitsubishi Lancer - or a Panda

I think if I was looking at a 1995 diesel car then I would rather this:

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/car-audi-80-tdi/5895654

Less amount of NCT on it but it is 400e less than the Pug and I think a better car all round and it's turbo'd :)

Honda Civic EG, NCT 9/14, €900
Don't see many of these about anymore.

Yeah, its the RED DEE, RED EYE that you want!

That 535i is a hell of a lot of car for the money. Probably the cheapest v8 bmw that could be bought - especially with NCT.
    Certainly the cheapest e39 v8.

Very tempted. I'm sure it will be gone by the time I get home tonight though.

i'd love to get an eg civic like that and just put it in a shed for 20 years. what an under rated design icon of a car imo

Didn't you have one a while ago??? A dark coloured one?

That Bora is pure dirt IMO. Not worth 2000 with that little test and it definitely has nothing else going for it!

thats an ek model, just not the same :P

A good few years down the line, when the EG and EK are considered 'classic', theres no doubt that the EG will always be more sought after.

Then again, maybe I'm saying this now because the EK hasn't gotten as rare as the EG.

My bad I'm not up on my Hondas :o

    What's the difference?

i'm not really either if i'm honest :P

    eg was the 1991-1995 shape
    hatch_mod_03.jpg

    ek was the 96-02 shape
    bluewater_mugen_ek.jpg

mine was actually an ej (1.4) (ek's had the vtec engines :pac:)

That has cleared it all up for me :)

On that note there is a super clean eg civic that lives down the road from me!

Ej's had vtec engines as well albeit sohc vtec, and ek's also had non vtec variants. That car in the pic above is a 96-98 pre facelift ej9.

The facelift ej 99-01 featured a cleaner front end with subtle but different headlights, grill, bumper, bonnet and wings. At the back the indicators were changed from amber to clear and (like the front) the bumper no longer featured bump strips. The interior was also upgraded with much nicer seats compared with the pre facelift.

looks aside Imo the ek/ej is actually a better car compared with the eg civic. It features a stiffer chassis, handles better, is safer and has a better range of engines with the sohc units gaining fuel injection and more bhp compared to the carbureted units in the eg. :)

Great find. Looks to be in good order. There cant be too many left in that kind of nick now. Pity the mileage wasn't marked in. One can only assume its really high but what harm if it was minded.

Agreed. Love their low slung stance and all from an everyday car. Park them beside a run of the mill golf or escort of the same vintage and how the civic will look so much slicker. There can't be too many left in that good of shape either. Most will have being molested to oblivion.

Who cares in a car that weighs 1450kg it'll still be slow.

Meh I wouldn't say no to it

My daily driver up for sale

Passed NCT today, valid until August 2014. Serviced and had a new clutch in August. I've done all of the work myself, but I was sure to keep receipts.

I'd be happy with €1,100 for it. Not the most desirable car in the world, and not the best tome of year to sell it, but if it doesn't sell I'll happily put it in with the rest of my cars.

Cheers. I've got a tendency to do that with my cars - always first thing on the list. I'm hoping to do something similar to this with the Forrester, I've been looking for coilovers already :o

Hoping to achieve something similar to this with it
