Yeh, I think I read somewhere he was carrying a knock, although he didn't get flagged. No plans to bring him in immediately anyway as they have United next, but quite good fixtures after that.
Dunno, I've got Wilson but I feel his race may be run for the moment in midfield,
If there wasn't such a glut of cheap decent midfielders I'd be recommending Ireland now, I think Hughes will want to play both him and Charlie Adam which is bad news for Wilson, he may have a better chance of getting his left back spot back.

Agree re defence, long term I expect Terry and maybe Kompany to be my premium defenders, Glen Johnston as mid range and my fave Chester along with either Clyne or Wilson maybe as rotation. I'm leaning towards the likes of Johnston and Wilson who are de facto midfielders.

I think when Kompany gets back I'll look at doing Zab to Kompany. I'd agree with Swiper above. I think Wilson could be on borrowed time. He wouldn't have started the first game of the season but for an injury to Palacios (I think it was) in the warm up.

I think I'll be happy with Kompany, Terry, Chester and Clyne. I'll need to look at Coleman.

How much is Glen Johnston? I've 2 mil in the bank but swapping Sturridge (9.5 he gets me) for Aguero (11.1 and rising) will take most of that. I'll hold off though. Sturridge has an easier game this weekend, although there's nothing easy about WBA.

Johnston is 5.7, I've Coleman since the start so can sell for 5.3 and only 0.4 more for Johnston.

Thanks for the points Re Wilson, will keep a close eye on that one. I'm thinking of Clyne in for Coleman first and then Johnston for Merts after Liverpool play Arsenal. Also planning to get Lloris for Migs and swap Dawson for a cheaper defender, or Kompany if he's fit.

Coleman is probably 3rd or 4th priority for me right now. I don't anticipate playing him too often but the fear of him popping up with a goal on my bench is troubling.

Hangeland, Vidic, Rooney, even Lukaku and monitoring AJ and Ravel are probably ahead of him. That's not even mentioning Mig. I'll probably keep him another while as he'll always be good for an assist even if he won't keep a cleanie. No more transfers this week if I can help it although in hindsight I've no idea why I got rid of Kos before Hangeland for Clyne.

I think Mig's clean sheets have been effected by Liverpool changing to 3 at the back. It's working we'll for the strikers but not the defence.

Home to west brom a good chance to get one, otherwise I'd have migs out for Lloris for -4 this week, and double up on spurs defence home to hull.

Btw, hoping to do same transfer, and getting same price for Sturridge. My hope is that Aguero will not go another rise after he inevitably goes up this week. Better chance of that if he holds off till tomorrow before rising. If so I'd be fairly confident Sturridge will rise as well this week taking his sale price up to 9.6 cancelling out, and in fact effectively banking, the Aguero rise.

    That's the cunning plan anyhow....

I wouldn't be racing to bring in Spurs defender right now if you look beyond Hull: Everton (A), Newcastle (H), City (A), United (H). It clears up a bit then again. Mind you if you had one I wouldn't necessarily sell either unless Dawson does lose his place.

If Kaboul can get fit and worms his way in he'll be a great option at 4.6 though.

With half an eye on the Arsenal-Dortmund game is anyone else thinking Santi Cazorla could become a viable and cheaper alternative to Ozil. Since when did Arsenal actually have such good players

Not that I'm looking at doing it or even really considering it but could be a differential

See I'm looking to get rid of mignolet shortly, and get Johnston in as at least if pool aren't getting as many CS he has a good chance of attacking returns. Everybody has migs and his price has peaked.

Viable keepers for a 1 starting keeper strategy for medium term, at least 6 games or so, I see as:
Lloris. I think overall spurs have been the best defence so far looking mean both home and away against some decent opposition. I wouldn't overly fear Everton a or Newcastle h that much, even united at home at the minute not a write off. Also the affordable spurs defenders not offering much in terms of attacking returns, so might as well have the Gk. Bit of a differential too.
De Gea, I just don't fancy united at the back, so if I was getting a Utd defender I go for somebody who might chip in with the odd goal or assist.
Cech, too dear, Terry a better option.
Sczezny, arsenal defence not great IMO so far. Sticking to arsenal attackers.
    Hart enough said.

None of the above have perfect fixtures for the next 6 or so. Mignolet's prob the best, but still has to go to Arsenal and an away merseyside derby.

Other than that you are looking at rotation with with the likes of boruc, mcgregor, jaask, etc. which I just don't fancy, way to headwrecking and as you can see I put far too much thought into this bloody thing already!

So in short (:P) I'd come to the conclusion I'd go to Lloris in goal and Johnston at the back sometime before Liverpool play Arsenal away, getting rid of Dawson who I have currently, hence the temptation to get both Spurs men in for this week only.

I think Aguero would have gone up the .3 this week had they not been playing Chelsea at the weekend. I still think he could go up .2.

I'm just waiting now for Sturridge to outscore Suarez this weekend and leave me with a dilemma again.

ye its going to be very hard to drop suarez or sturridge. Im thinking of selling sturridge as suarez never seems to miss a game through injury.

He's still only at 94%, if he makes it till tomorrow and then gets well over the line tomorrow he might make it with one rise. His price in itself my slow down the NTIs once he rises.

Sturridge out scoring Suarez in terms of goals, but not FPL points, Suarez average return in 4 games is almost in double figures, and i think nearly every Sturridge goal since Suarez return has been a a Suarez assist. I'm more than at ease with shifting Sturridge even though his goals return is phenomenal so far.

Townsend in, on friday all going well. Gr8 pick by mr p. And others.

Spurs fixtures not great after next 3 but more squad strengtening considering all the rotation.

Any updates on Terry tonight? Did he survive the match unscathed?

I'm trying to decide between Oscar and Hazard. Both seem to be in good form at the moment. And both are at the same price right now. Any thoughts?

I'm definitely keeping Suarez but there's certainly an argument that keeping both is worthwhile, particularly at present.

    Out

    Yaya
    Moses
    Collins

    In

    Silva
    Morrison
    Nastasic

    Opinons?

Would liked to have waited until after tomorrow in case on injury to the city pair, but Collins looks like he will drop in price so pulled the trigger tonight

Personally, I wouldn't have given up on Touré yet.

Yeah it was a tough call, but Silva looks to be coming into some form, and long term he has bigger potential.

I'm pretty happy with my front 8 now

    Morrsion-Ozil-Silva-Ramsey-Oscar

    Lukaku-Sturridge-Aguero

Back four and keeper need work.

Eriksen for Townsend done. Id 3 players not start last week, so will probably take a points hit and do Whittaker to Clyne.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,962 ✭✭✭Hogey007

first time this season i might be able to bank my transfer, i've been taking a lot of point hits.

something scary happened, i went to add Johnson and it said "you have selected too many Liverpool players"

i don't think they've ever had to use that particular warning in the history of FPL!!!

Had the same issue myself last week got rid of moses to enable me get in johnson this week. Ive had 3 liverpool players 4 weeks running now and its worked so far but this will probably the last week of it. Suarez or sturridge + johnson will be my 2 going forward.

yeah I have moses, suarez and mig, I would have liked to have got Johnson in for this week but my plan now is to bank the transfer and keep moses for this week.
then next week I can do moses to brady and have 1 spare transfer.
I might do vidic to Johnson then and mig to DDG over the next couple of weeks.
I also am keeping a close eye on coutinho for when he returns, so I'd say I will have coutinho and suarez and then 1 from mig and Johnson when my team is settled.
I could go with Oscar though instead of coutinho, it's a move that's a couple of weeks away so plenty of time to asses it.

I can handle Aguero or Ramsey going up again this week, but not both. So annoyed I didn't catch Zab dropping in price, would have been ok except for that.

Might have to just accept I won't be getting Ramsey in and hope the wheels come off. If he's rested this weekend he'll have three tough games to follow.

    Mignolet
    Vidic - Terry - Dawson
    Januzaj - Ozil - Ramsey - Michu
    Rooney - Suarez - Lukaku

    Subs: Brady, Kosielny, Hangeland

Anyone see a transfer there? 0.2 m in bank. Honestly, I might just bank the transfer to fund some surgery next week.

Mertesacker out Clyne in . Sick of Arsenal's lack of clean sheets. transfered in Mert last week instead of Chico for Swansea thinking Swansea had a lot of defensive injuries :( great move ! Doubling up on Southhampton this week. Minglot can warm the bench

Did exactly the same myself, picked Mert over Rangel. Nightmare.

Nothing obvious without taking a hit really is there, Hangeland maybe considering his fixture list but he's low down in your pecking order. I'd be worried ahead of a few of those team sheets though, I won't mention my Dawson will be dropped mantra anymore until it happens but it will soon. At least you've Kos to come in for any defensive let downs, this will be the week that the Gunners get their clean sheet, could be more to come also if they play Arteta and Flamini as cover for that disastrous defence. Will Janusaj start three in a row? Will Ramsey be rested? But those are two you won't want rid of for obvious reasons, it could be a brilliant gameweek for you but you could also be bitten by a few managers selections.
