Ugh Friday evening plans wrecked with a cow calving ha. Just done now, monster of a bull, I was really hoping for a heifer from this cow, as her survivability in the herd is excellent (we only just sold her 14year old granddam afew months ago!). Had to test out the new calving jack, having the brace thingy that wraps around the cows hips makes some difference! I just got to throw in a calving gate, and some proper lights in the new calving shed and I'll be sorted on that front!

Washed and greased loader today not much else to be done. Washed and put tractor away as it won't be needed till we need to move cattle indoors a while yet I hope!!!

It will only be used for 3-4 days till slurry starts again

anything where they ride into the dusty town with a herd of cattle and a gun fight follows, where the bar gets broke up, followed by the sheriff getting shot! i live a simple life really!
