He seems to be selling off his console stuff now, only hanging onto his shmups.

Way ahead of ya dude :D
Drilled a hole in ground, 1 strong cork and 1 nail and a bit of glue on the nail. Will do the job until I get a proper one.

Def not going down that road, I think at the end of the day I'm just more into the consoles. I never got the same kick out of collecting pcb's, & after having my complete fill of some delicious humble pie, I think a nice bartop would suit me down to the ground

The problem with collecting PCBs is the fear. The fear of the caps/batteries leaking. The fear of traces breaking. The fear of the elements getting to them. The fear of static build ups, accidentally knocking off a cap when inserting into the harness... I'm not going to lie, they're a pain in the hoop!

But damn do I love them :D

I've actually gone the opposite way believe it or not, I'm not getting the same kick out of console game collecting anymore. Almost considering selling off loads of console games (Would keep all my Megadrive, Snes and NES stuff) and just going the flash card route/CDRs with the rest.

*insert vulture pic to basicly tell you to run everything by me before you sell it :D

Configuring the bartop will be a royal pain in the arse but it'll be worth it.

I'm still trying to find time to get mine up and running the way I want it to.

My plan is to have everything set to a default button layout of keyboard keys using XPadder.

That way I can just switch from Steering wheel / lightgun / control panel / Xbox 360 controller as I see fit without having to mess with configs.

It's very time consuming but will all be worth it in the end!

Ah sure I done my Mamecab & Hyperspin setup. Granted I forget absolutely everything by now, but I'm sure it'll all come flooding back :o

Only real change will be using an ipac instead of a jpac, so I might even up the grx card to I can run the arcade versions of SF4 etc on it :)

Running the arcade version of SFIV is pretty awesome alright.

    Got this earlier:

I have a plan for a new YouTube series that will involve capturing game footage...

Cheapo Chinese job but it should do the trick anyway.

    Gunlord for the Dreamcast .

Turrican on steroids with some horizontal shmupping levels thrown in .

Puppeteer is mental, feels more like an art project, light on gameplay but big on things I've never seen in a game before.
It's got all the character that Tim Burton has been looking for, that dark gothic playfulness, but something that never transferred into a game before.
    Very very impressive.

I already have Super Ghouls and Ghost stored in Japan and Super Aleste on the way .
Yahoo Japan seems to be best for Super Famicom as Ebay is a bit crazy with the prices .

Nice find, that game is a total hidden gen on the SNES and probably the best platformer that hasn't got Mario in the title.

I like the Bubble Bobble attack combined with Mario platforming .

The weird thing is that it's a sequel to Milon's Secret Castle, one of the worst NES games ever made.

I looked everywhere in Tokyo for that and couldn't find it - great pick up!

Here's a few pics of some of the bits and pieces I picked up. Will post pics of the SFC games today/tomorrow

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 616 ✭✭✭Casey120

    Nice pick-ups !

Umihara Kawase, really strange but fun game .
I have and have only played the PS1 version, looking forward to the 3DS version .

Any news on the Sega 3D classics for us Euro's ?
They announced 3D Space Harrier last July but it's awfully quiet since .

    Very nice!
3 3DS' is an acceptable amount right?

    It's the correct amount, especially if it's a EU/US/JPY combination. I'm contemplating buying a 4th, I'd like a European XL.
