Gits myself NSMB2 in Smyth, I mention this because Sonic is also for sale, at the already discounted price of 39.99, on WiiU, and the 3ds version for 34.99
Not a sign to inspire confidence tbh.
So, didn't get it, almost did though....

Got myself a Game Boy Color with a front light mod today to see how she looks. I've only the one game with me (Super Mario Land) so i havent tested it with any actual "Color" games yet but its not bad looking.
It looks a little washed in the pic/vid but its not so bad in real life(but is definitely washed out a bit).

Here's a pic(quality is poo as I'm away and only have my iPhone 5 for pics and vids):

    Edit:
Video doesn't show for me on boards for some reason. Here's a link in case.

That's fantastic Steve, How much was the modded device, and is it an easy mod to do yourself?
Very nice, I'd buy another just for the mod, keep the other one stock.

That's really nice, am tempted to pick up a GBA with the same mod. Have custom frontlights been created or is it still a case of cannibalizing an ags-001 SP?

I paid 60 euro for the modded Game Boy. The console itself is in mint condition but not boxed. I do wish there was some way to turn off the backlight without turning off the game boy itself, but its not a major thing.

    I think its still from a ags-001.

Picked up two for €2 for the PS2 at the Sunday market in Balbriggan.
I got the very underwhelming but not sh1te Haunted Mansion.
But more interestingly I got Deadly Strike.
From the Simple series in Japan it's one of the better titles of the series and I am looking forward to getting home and trying it out.

Yep, €15 for it - no power supply though so going to have to mak one up to see if it works.
Looks in good enough condition though so can always sit with the rest of the unused pedals and amps :)

I tried that one some time ago and it was pretty usable actually, I also have a lots of Guitar stuff that stays untouched and I already sold a ton .

Still use an old Boss GT 3 for practise/fun on a headphone and my trusty Koch Twin tone for everything else .

Few bits & pieces to post/ First up, can't beat a free hand-me down. Coupled with shovelware, but hey, it's the console I'm after...

I was specifically after a Phat PS2, so I can rebox & store away my silver one...& use the normal one as the workhorse. Especially so, because I have this to go with it...also free courtesy of a generous user in the console modding forum!

PS2 modchip. Should accompany the hard drive adapter nicely :) Hello PS2 imports! Next up is a game which has been missing from my Snes collection for an embarrassingly long time, an embarrassment I can now put to rest...

Not sure if I posted this already, but it's amazing what you find in the gf's parents attic...

Maybe it's the version of HD Loader I'm using but I couldn't get it to work with copied or import games. I still needed you go through a PC with WinHiiP to get it to work.

I should probably just use an FTP solution to do it.

Thats partly why I want a chipped PS2, the HD loader system is very nice but it does cause issues for some games. Using the pc to transfer games to the hdd via ide is a nightmare, though I've never looked at the ftp option. At least with the chip, imports can be directly booted

There's definitely a FTP method of doing it. The guy that set up my PS2 with a HD drive showed me but I hadn't a clue about ftp at the time so totally forgot and went the IDE method which is most annoying now since my old PC died and my new one uses SATA exclusively. Maybe it's possible with USB?

The only game that has really given me trouble when running from HD was Kingdom Hearts 2 and no sane person needs to inflict that horrible game on themselves.

I've seen quite a few games with jumpy cutscenes etc because of it, there's various patches you can apply but tbh its a pain in the ass. You can possible do it via usb & a filebrowser from within FreemcBoot...

Is FTPing over to the PS2 anything like doing it with the XBox? That was a very straightforward process. Can't remember the tool, but one side showed your PC, the other side your Xbox and you could just copy and paste them over.

Been using HDLoader for years, even bought the original HDLoader boot disc :) Was made by the same guy went on to develop those DMS chips.

Use WinHiip most of the time to transfer stuff, and USB->IDE converter will work with it so its not a major chore if you're doing a couple of games. A lot faster than FTPing stuff across !!

There are compatibility issues with certain games alright and patches to correct most of them. I'm sure there is a list on the net somewhere.
But so far I've not had any issues with any imports or ISO's I've tried.

Import ISO's are fine it's just HD Loader doesn't recognise my chip so uploading imports from discs won't work. I think I just need a USB caddy for my drive.
