Id consider flogging rvp to improve other areas mate. not sure having a fulham defender is a good strategy either. they are god awful this year.

Hoping someone can help me get out of a rut. Last two weeks have been a disaster, certain players have just disappointed and not sure who to get rid of and who to keep. I think I need to take a point hit or two.

Do you still have your wild card?
Now would probably be a good time to use it.

I would keep Mignolet, Coleman(maybe Nastasic).
Mertesacker would be a better Arsenal option than Koscielny.

Midfield is good, except Ward-Prowse doesn't seem to be getting much game time recently.

I would get in either Suarez or Sturridge for RVP to free up some funds.
I'd get rid of Soldado too - better options out there.

Yeah Amorebieta was a punt I went with last week. I thought Fulham were just having a bad start now I know they're just bad. Yeah my thinking is RVP to Suarez.

Unfortunately I've already used it, I'm thinking RVP out and Suarez. Might take a point hit and upgrade Ward Prowse or should I hold off on that?

problem with rvp is that he weakens other areas big time and if he doesn't play, you're left relying on bench duds.

i wildcarded rvp in weeks ago but got him out about 2 weeks later as i couldnt do much with my team. hes world class and there will be weeks where we suffer for not having him but he's not essential imo, many quality strikers in england atm.

Don't spend too much on your fifth midfielder - get someone who plays regularly and is as cheap as chips.

    Current team

    Mignolet

    ----Terry---Nastastic---Fonte----

    Ozil---Brady---Michu---Ben Arfa---

    ---Suarez----Giroud----Rooney----

Subs: (Gk) Davis, Ward-Prowse, Whittaker, Gabbidon

Quite happy with my team now but my subs bench is killing me between 1 point wonders and non starters!

Was thinking of banking a transfer this week but with Ward-Prowse set to drop again this week should i use this week to ship him out and if so for who? i have 0 in the bank so i'm thinking of possibly El Ahmadi (Villa) he's played over 60 mins in all but 1 game so far this season and even managed a goal against City, he would also free up .1mil

The other option is Whittaker out for Turner (Cardiff)... he's never likely to score higher then 2 points most weeks but at least he is playing and he would free up .2mil

Hate using transfers for moves like this but considering im happy enough with my starting 11 its probably a good time to make one of these transfers??

The idea behind both these moves is that if price changes go in my favour ill bring in Davies from Swansea for Fonte in a week or two?

I know it's bad but I'm hoping Mignolet gets injured in the pre-match warm up soon, so many people continued with no sub keeper after using their wildcard. Definitely risky!

This is how I'm lining up for GW7

Starting to wonder why I thought Lukaku was a good idea.. Took a -4 hit to bring him and Brady in for Benteke (inj) and Ward-Prowse

    Plans for the coming weeks:
    - Get rid of Koscielny. 1 CS so far just isn't worth 5.4. Looking at Clyne which will save me 1.0 and Southampton have been impressive so far.
    - With the money saved from that bring back Bentekkers
    - Swap out Vidic for Rafael if I have a spare transfer some week

Don't normally do this but two AWFUL weeks have me looking for advice. As I'm thinking it through:

 Defence looks sound but  I had one defender only playing GW6 so I did Chester -> Terry (and surely never again will Vidic, Agger and Collins be benched same week?!)

    :confused: Mids need work + a Ward-Prowse ejection + a cash injection from (I think) a 6.0 -> 5.0 defender and a Roo/Giroo -> Lukakoo switch.

:D Looks like one of the A-List fwd line-ups at the cost of a better mid so "You're on borrowed time A-List forward line-up. One bad week and yer oot o' here!

So.. I babble no longer. Thoughts & suggestions?

Doubling up on Liverpool at the back? Risky strategy.. I'd bring in a different defender from City / Arsenal, or even Southampton considering their form.. Collins is a nice cheap option but when Clyne is cheaper and has a better record so far it's a bit of a no-brainer

I like your midfield. I'm not a fan of Barkley though. I feel there's a lot of undeserved hype about him just because he's English. No doubt he's pretty well at the moment, but can he keep it up?

As a replacement for Ward-Prowse, Morrisson(WHU) is playing at the moment is only 4.4.. But I don't know how long he will keep his place..

Oh yeah I totally missed that! So, aside from the schoolboy error, how about the line-up?

How much money do you have in your bank? I'm guessing 10m+

Wildcard today, bring in 3 of Rooney/RVP/Suarez/Sturridge/Lukaku/Giroud etc. Take it from there and get back to us.

No....4.8. Only bought HBA and Mirallas in the last 2 weeks.

Looking at Lukaku and Suarez for Soldado and Berbatov, and will do that this evening. Not sure whether to keep Campbell or not.

MF is a minefield. Keeping Oscar, and thinking of keeping Whittingham (hes on set pieces for Cardiff, and has a goal and 2 assists so far which isnt bad for a 5th choice MF IMO. Cant see Ramsey and Toure scoring as this rate for long, so reluctant to bring them in, but struggling to come up with alternatives

Maybe Collins to Davies if you can afford it if not Clyne

Opinions? I'm gonna go with this. Made a mistake somewhere lastnight because my team was worth 103.3 million and I made my two free transfers and it was immediately worth 102.9 million. Could anyone please explain that to me?

you may have removed some players who had increased. You only get to 'keep' half of the increase.

    e.g if
    I buy Giroud at 8.5
    Giroud available for 9.5
If I sell him, I only get 9m.

Whereas before I sold him, I had a team value of 9.5m (and rest) I now have Benteke @ 8.9 + Bank 0.1 (and rest).

Still not happy but a lot better I think. Is strike force too strong? Want Ozil but 10.5 is a bit pricey for a MF I think, and I think Rooney on form offers almost as much assist threat as well as a bigger goal threat. Resisting Ramsey for now but that could change before Saturday

Keep an eye on injury news re Liverpool, I suspect when Cissoko is fit he will replace Enrique.....but you have good defensive cover in Rio and Fonte so not that big a deal. Wouldnt captain Michu either. Suarez or Ozil would be your best bets IMO

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 11,274 ✭✭✭✭FHFC

    Migs, Lewis
Dawson, Clyne, Ivanovic (or Kompany), Coleman, Mertesacker
Brady, Ozil (or Mata if in favour), Michu, Ramsey, Eriksen
Suarez, Benteke (Sturridge till Benteke fit), Lukaku

This is the team I'm aiming for over next 3 weeks FTs.

    Any suggestions?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,583 ✭✭✭NoviGlitzko

Yes. I seriously wouldn't captain Michu this weekend FearDark.

    My team for this weekend:

    GK: Boruc
    DF: Clyne
    DF: Zabaleta
    DF: Enrique
    DF: Terry
    MD: Ozil (C)
    MD: Eriksen
    MD: Ramsey
    FW: Rooney
    FW: Sturridge (V)
    FW: Giroud

    Bench:
    GK: McGregor
    DF: Coleman
    MD: Barkley
    MD: Brady

Novi, Ozil is a risky pick.

I think your safest bet would be Sturridge but to be honest, I'd be delighted to see Ozil get 25 points :)

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 2,583 ✭✭✭NoviGlitzko

Very true but Arsenal usually tend to score more when teams don't park the bus at the Emirates. Liverpool tend to score less at Anfield when teams do the same. The only things that worry me are; will Ozil play 90 minutes, and with Suarez back Liverpool could get bags of goals. Also, Crystal Palace aren't exactly the best defenders.

    Oh decisions. "/

I know it's early days yet but this is probably how I'm going to line up after the International break

    TVCbBR5.png

    Only decision left is captain..

Lukaku or Giroud more than likely.. Have two weeks to think about it but something is telling me Lukaku is the right choice :)

My only tough decision was deciding who to bench.. Have 0 faith in Arsenals defence although they are at home. Might end up bench Vidic but scoring at Old Trafford is no easy feat.

Dawson away to Aston Villa. While I expect Tottenham to be able to hold out for the clean sheet without Benteke, I have some minor doubts.

If you have zero faith in Arsenal's defence then why do you have an Arsenal defender in your team?
