I rate Hazard higher than Oscar. I'd like to get Benteke back in but think it's a toss up between him and his compatriot Lukaku - unsure whether he's worth the extra £1m. I definitely have my eye on Silva though, if both him and Hazard start performing I'll downgrade my defence a bit to get him in. Could end with a team like this.

Amalfitano and AJ make up the rest. Might hang on to AJ for another few weeks.

    Who the hell is AJ???

A much simpler and stress free way of referring to Adnan Januzaj without checking the spelling at least once :pac:

People can manage Jagielka, and same poster tried Amalfitano. Too early for AJ I think...
It is the lazy way, not stress free way;)

Based on Ramsey's performance in Europe, the likelihood of him being rested this weekend and the fact that they have a tough run following Palace... I've decided against getting him in. He rose along with Aguero last night meaning I can't get both in now anyway, and I want to hold off until next week before bringing Aguero in. Vidic being a doubt is pissing me right off. My plan is to bring in Clyne for Zabaleta and double up on Southampton defenders for the next three weeks, but I would still prefer to have Vidic in there.

So this GW I'm looking at Zabaleta -> Clyne, followed by Rooney->Aguero and Michu->Hazard next week. Will leave me about £1.4m in the bank to sort out my defence. I want to get Lloris in for Mignolet but will wait until after GW14, they have a tough run coming up. Mertesacker was always going to be a gamble, hopefully they can at least keep Crystal Palace at bay.

More than happy with my MF and attack once I get Hazard and Aguero in. 8 attackers from 7 different teams. I don't like having to wait until they play on Sunday to get them in though, it's likely both will rise Saturday night.

Hi Rory, don't know whether or not this will effect your transfer plans but I said I'd let ya know, McGregor has been ruled out for 6 weeks with a thigh injury.

Good news at least for the few that have Harper as a 4.0 million 'expected to not play sub' like myself.

Unbelievable. There are times I feel cursed at this game. Bought him in to play him GW10 + 12.

I have both Mig and McGregor. I think I'm just going to stick with Mignolet on his own for the next 6-7 weeks. His next fixtures are

    West Brom (H)
    Arsenal (A)
    Fulham (H)
    Everton (A)
    Hull (A)
    Norwich (H)
    West Ham (H)

There are definitely one or two clean sheets in there. I'm also keeping just Mig on his own, as I cant see any stand out replacements. I just have to hope he doesn't get injured over the next few weeks!

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 9,600 ✭✭✭roryc

Yeah but I brought in McGregor for the explicit reason to cover Mig for tough weeks, they rotate well. Frustrating.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,748 ✭✭✭Swiper the fox

It's a pain in the arse for me but as things stand I wouldn't be afraid to send Boruc out against any opposition, however Arsenal and Chelsea away on successive weeks will almost certainly scare me into action, it's a problem I didn't want now, transfers seem so precious when things aren't going so well and transfers for keepers always seem the most pointless exercise of all.

The only game I'd worry about Mig there is Arsenal away. Everton could be another but I'd be happy enough to leave him in for it and the others. Might give Harper a run that game week of Pool having Arsenal away.

    How's this team looking?

    Boruc/Mignolet

    Clyne/Coleman/Koscielny/Nastasic/Amorebieta

    Michu/Ramsey/Nani/Paulinho/Barkley

    Lukaku/Giroud/Suarez

I need to offload Amorebieta and preferably I'd have Hazard and Ageuro in the team over the next couple of weeks. Anywhere else people can see need changing?

You have no man city or chelsea midfielders or forwards. Does that not worry you?

Looks good! I'd consider Nani -> Townsend which might allow Giroud -> Aguero next week? Or even Paulinho -> Hazard/Oscar/Silva

Here's my team for tomorrow as it stands..

    Mignolet
    Coleman Vidic Walker (Turner Chester)
    Ozil Ramsey Michu Eriksen (Brady)
    Giroud (c) Suarez Lukaku

Which transfer stands out, Vidic -> Chico (which allows Eriksen -> Silva next week) OR Eriksen -> Townsend.

I could just play both and pray, saving the transfer. Any thoughts?

    Cheers.

Read on another thread vidic is doubtful

Maybe you should check that as that will probably make your mind up

I've being looking for ages and it is basically 50/50. The Mirror are reporting he won't play but I wouldn't really trust them!

It wouldn't make sense to lose him before Stoke at home but he's been p*ssing me off for the last few weeks! (0, 1, 0)

With that price you would expect better but as you say with stoke at home you would expect a cs.
Personally I would hold off for this week but up to you.

I think i'll hold onto both Vidic & Eriksen and pray. At least i'll have 2 free transfers. Cheers!

It's an annoying one because both haven't been producing lately but they both could do well if they play!

Yeah, know what you mean but if utd keep a clean sheet you be livid. If they don't the transfer is still in the bag till next week.
If vidic doesn't play who be your sub?

Ben Turner from Cardiff. If Eriksen doesn't play then i'd only have Brady who probably won't play either..

Well ideally I'll be bringing Aguero in today and Hazard or Oscar next week.

After my first good week of the season I did what all good managers do (:p) and make more improvements to their squads with an 8 point hit and 3 fresh faces. Perhaps a little top heavy and certainly too many away fixtures this week but I'm quite happy with how things look for the next few weeks.

    2hz76d.jpg

Mignolet is becoming a bit of an issue but the plan is to persist until De Gea's fixtures pick up in a month's time and switch.

I decided to get Terry in 9 weeks too late and paid .4 of a premium for him but he should stand me in good stead as Vidic's replacement. I also brought Ashley Williams in for Hangeland who just had to go. Swansea have good fixtures for the forseable future and on his return picked up 3BPs which is something I'll hope to see continue. Clyne is the cheap was into the Saints defense and hopefully he'll serve me well. Mickey Turner is well Mickey Turner and he has great fixtures coming up after the weekend where I can play him without feeling like an idiot. Coleman is probably somebody I'll need to look at, perhaps Pieters of Stoke could be a shrewd move while Everton's fixtures get tougher.

Midfield is certainly a little light when you look past Ozil. I've got faith in Michu to come good and I'll remain patient while those around 9 million continue to be almost equally sporadic. I can't afford them anyway unless Coleman is downgraded, I'd also sniff around at Hull for a real cash injection. I plumped for Townsend before it was cool (:pac:) and I'm happy to keep him while he rises, he can be my Ramsey of sorts if a little less consistent. Ravel and AJ are bargain basement buys but good ones. If AJ rises again then I may be able to afford Jonny Howson next week and I think he could be my pet project while Norwich have their decent run of games.

Upfront is some prospect. Shipping Lukaku out for Aguero could easily come back to bite me but he'll be my captain this week in what could be the first week I actually won't play Turner, unless I crumble come Friday with the fear. Many would argue that Rooney should be the one to be shipped out but I'm happy to hold him for another few weeks at least. I'll have an eye on Benteke and Lukaku. Nothing much needs to be said about Suarez really.

So that's where I'm at proudly sitting inside the top 500k for the first time in months, next week could be a disaster especially with the hits and numerous away fixtures so a lot rests on Aguero's shoulders but after that I'm content and smugly awaiting the wheels to come off Ramsey's wagon.

Very strong team Mr P. The only thing missing IMO is Brady. I also think you need to get some form of a Chelsea attacker in there.

Defence and strikers are very solid.

Yeah if in a few weeks Michu doesn't pay his debts then Hazard/Oscar can slot in. Downgrading Coleman will do a lot for me when I get around to it and can give me the 1.0+ I need to make the little changes.

It's still a work in progress but I'm content for now
