But I kind of hate it when there's a chase/fight/character development scene and they keep putting the camera away from the person's face and to their boobs.

Yup, it's like that scene in the new Star Trek where there was that scene of Carol Marcus in her underwear for absolutely no reason!

    Can't say I'm adamant Anime watcher, but I watched a fair few [series];

    - Death Note
    - Trigun
    - Full Metal Alchemist ( Brilliant series )
    - Naruto ( Lost interest, nothing but constant flash backs / fillers )
    - Cowboy Beebop *
    - Outlaw Star *
    - Tenchi Muyo * [ * Watched these on CN's Toonami like a decade ago ]
    - Escaflowne
    - Evangelion Neon Genesis
    - etc.

    Older shows 80s and before:

    - Robotech
    - That show with the people piloting some robotic cat things, that combined, whatever it's called...
    - Kimba
    - Astro Boy
    - Black Jack
    - etc.

Watched 3 x 3 Eyes years ago and really enjoyed it.

I've seen Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Wicked City.

Haven't watched any in yonks though. Wouldn't mind getting back in to it!

Attack on Titan started out good, but now it's just getting so damn predictable.

i.e. - Always the worst case scenario happens, always.

It's getting kind of dull in a way.

Additionally, the show seems to have the idea of seeing the audience as those with the memory of a gold fish - wasting a good few minutes at the start of every episode doing pointless recaps, effectively making each episode shorter.

Spoiler discussion about the newest one.
Was anybody else kind of annoyed that the traitor turned back into a Titan straight away? I kind of liked the idea of fighting amongst the trees.

    I'm surprised Wolf's Rain hasn't been mentioned. :)
Great series but I could never figure out if Toboe was a boy or a girl... :/

    Also worth watching;
    Vampire Hunter D; Bloodlust
The Legend of the Four Kings.
    5cm/s
    Elfen Lied.

I really do like the bleakness of Attack On Titan, the fact that things generally go pretty badly is not a criticism I'd make at all.

    Yup!
I was really hoping to see Levi take on whoever it was one on one, a fight with the 3D maneuver gear would've been quite epic, but it was still pretty exciting.

I used to be mad into Dragonball Z back in the day. Tenchi Muyo/Universe, that was a good one too. I also recommend Excel Saga. It makes virtually no sense but it's quite funny in places.
I haven't watched much anime in recent years but I have volumes 1 to 5 of Hellsing Ultimate gathering dusk on my book shelf so I might just treat myself to a marathon at some stage.

EDIT: You must admit, this theme tune was pretty badass:

Do! ;) I found it a bit weird at first, because I thought the first anime version started out much better, but once I got into it, Hellsing Ultimate handled the whole plot far better. That happens the odd time in anime, where the manga will still be running and the show catches up to the plot, so the producers of the show kinda have to make up the rest of the story as they went along.

Never read the manga. I was more of an..um... yaoi fan to say the least...
I have an entire footlocker full of smutty manga that I just can't bring myself to get rid of. Last one I read was the Manga Sutra (aka Futanari H) which was actually quite cute in depicting the sexual trials and tribulations of a married couple. :)
Only have the first two volumes and I'm not sure if they ever released any more in Europe...

I was hoping to see mikasa:P Yeah, that fight between the Titans was pretty cool, and does give a bit of a hint who it is. You know, I haven't read the mangas, but I wonder will there be a Mikasa versus Levi duel later? They do seem to be the best among the best.

Hmmm, I kind of feel like re-watching fullmetal.

Don’t know much about all this Anime stuff, but I’ve sure spent enough on specialized art supplies, graphic programs and equipment, and recent conventions for my artistic 16 year old kid who’s into it. She pitched an Anime style idea to the director of international development (who also happens to be her uncle) for a huge corporation (who everyone’s heard of) at our recent Labor Day picnic. This corporation is continually looking to expand their product lines which appeal to both domestic and international markets, and are looking for new and innovative tie-ins to their well established product lines. He liked her idea and saw huge potential and a number of spin-off products within their target audience. He wants her to propose some character idea graphics and backgrounds that tie in with their core product, and a sample storyline. He’ll have his graphics department refine the ideas and then pitch it up the corporate ladder to see what happens. Who knows, could be bang or bust, but perhaps in a year or two...

Ghost in a Shell, great film.
    Death Note, I love L.
Have also watched the odd yaoi in my time. ;);)

Am off to Paris in a week to see The Gazette and a few days later in Toulouse.
Does that me a little otaku?
    Probably.....
    I'm fine with that. :)

I'd actually like to see the first again, even though the plot is a mess.

    Hey Links!

I remember watching a show on channel 4 years ago.

It was about 4 brothers and they had the ability to turn into big fuck off dragons if they got angry.

I think the dragons each represented one of the four elements - earth, water, fire and wind.

Any idea what I'm talking about?

Was It legend of the four kings maybe?

I love anime, especially the ones released by manga entertainment in the 90's,some real classic's,such a Akira, ghost in the shell, devilman, angel cop, cyber city oedo 808,fist of the north star, orguss 2,monster city, wicked city,The list goes on and on :D.

Shinji seems like a real kid with real problems. Sure, it may be nice to imagine Kamina of Gurren Lagann slapping him in the face and ordering him to grow some balls, but that would shatter whatever realism Evangelion's characters have.

I can't understand why so many people dislike Shinji and look at him as being weak and cowardly. Considering the amount of shít he has to deal with I think he copes as well as anyone would in his position. I always felt really sorry for him. I watched Evangelion this year, it was the first anime series I ever watched and I loved it. Complete mindfúck but really enjoyable. Have watched the first two rebuild films, looking forward to seeing the third. :)

Have since watched a bit of Death Note and will get back to it when I have a chance. Am hoping to get to Berserk, Cowboy Bebop and Elfen Lied at some point.

Another anime I love is Kogepan; a series of 10 4-minute shorts about a depressed bread roll.....no, seriously! :D
