Amiko Alien 2 Triple Tuner Combobox

ive had it all working on the image that was on the box when i bought it only for it crashing it still would be fine i had it running on vizcam just for some strange reason about 10 channels wont clear ive backed up my settings would i be better off reflashing to see how i get on also do u recognise the skin in pog mo thoins tutorial about setting up he has about 6 pics on it thanks

Have a look through the skins that come with the Hyperion 2 image, there's loads. There much of a muchness to what your looking for.

I think that skin is called pli-hd.

Has anyone had a problem with programmes not recording? I set up a good few in autotimer the other day and about half of them recorded. The other half show up in the movie selection but are actually just empty files (size 0mb).

Is there a tool to open a flash image for the purpose of extracting files or do I need to flash the receiver and then ftp out what I'm looking for?

Do you maybe only have a single satellite cable feed into your box ? I get this the odd time but my second cable is shared via an A / B switch between my box and my TV (which has a built in FreesatHD Tuner) and sometimes it's been switched to the TV meaning I only had one link to the box.

No I have two feeds in. What's your exact configuration for the tuners? Mine is
Tuner A:DVB-T
Tuner B:Single, sats 28.2
Tuner C:Single, sats 28.2

I'll give it a go. Nearly sure I had it set to equal in the past and I was getting a black screen every so often when I was recording. Now that I think about it maybe it's a faulty tuner.

i pulled out my hd tyo put some films on from laptop and now since i have reconnected i have lost epg and cannot access where my past recordings are stored i have gone through every folder but find nothing, do i need to somehow tell the box were to look again for epg and were to save recordings too?

Have you tried giving the box a complete reboot ? Don't expect it to mount the disk when it's already up and running. If you're using my image, then Samba is there so you could copy to or from the disk while it's still connected to the box. On your laptop, connect to \\box_ip\hdd

WARNING re CrossEPG

It looks like there is something wrong with the OpenTV providers so I changed over to XMLTV provider Rytec UK XMLTV and all's good again

Would this be why my epg hasn't been fully populating since I switched over to H2?

Yes, I think so. Just co-incidental I think. If you had stayed on AR-P, I think it would be the same.

Anyone out there running AR-P and the EPG updating ? Check by going into CrossEPG > Info About Database

It's to do with 28.2 and 28.4 both selected.Just deselect 28.4 and download again and all's perfect

It looks daunting, but it's not all that bad. Have you looked at pog mo thoins guide. It's pretty well done for a step by step guide.

i cant even get past the first step. i go to the spark menu and it only lets me pick 2 options, message and config. i cant get on the upgrade software menu, it skips it!

If you're trying to use an Enigma image you have to use the Enigma side of the box. There are two sides to the AA2 box, spark and enigma. So you have to choose which side you wish to use. Are you looking to use the spark image or a certain Enigma2 image?

Spark is probably easiest but is more basic than the enigma 2 images. I'd say go with enigma2 as it'll take a week or so to get your head around things but its worth it in the long run to .E2 gives you series link and rte player amongst other things that spark won't.

Have you tried loading on championC's Hyperion image yet? It comes with almost all the plugins already installed so you wouldn't be starting from scratch.

It's all a matter of opinion. I prefer the Enigma 2 side myself as it's a closer fit to Sky, plus its more open to extras (as in plugins). You'll also want a good HDD for recording and playback. I use a Samsung M3 portable HDD.

have done a few reboots since issue happened i can browse all files on hd via the box so it is seeing it

Good luck with it, don't forget to deselect Satellite 28.4. If you don't you won't get your EPG working right.
