So got my registration pack etc. from St. Pat's Drumcondra and inside was a leaflet with the surface rt offer. So some colleges must be doing it so....

Not the same deal is it 50 blips extra. I'd still pay it and imo it's still a bargain just need Dit to pull the finger out.....

It is the same deal as originally posted in post #1 - €155 + vat = €190.65 and is the same as in the Irish form in post #104 just an added €10 handling fee.

Cool is this one purchase per student I wonder

It doesn't say anything on the leaflet but I would suspect there would be some sort of limit. However I couldn't see a whole lot of people going for it though....

So got my registration pack etc. from St. Pat's Drumcondra and inside was a leaflet with the surface rt offer. So some colleges must be doing it so....

Microsoft Surface RT (32GB) Tablet only (black) - €200.65
Microsoft Surface RT (32GB) with Touch Keyboard Cover (black, cyan or white) - €251.08
Microsoft Surface RT (32GB) with Type Keyboard Cover (black) - €290.44
(all prices include VAT and €10 handling fee)

When I emailed DIT SU they said that MS would have reps on campus during freshers week with this offer

My brother in law is going to pats. If DIT falls through I'll ask him about his. Is there a time limit on it?

They are probably doing the same as Pats ie selling them during freshers week

It's been established ages ago that you can order with a valid student email address on their student store site.. It's still a long way off the original offer.
Does nobody bother to read through threads?

I have to say I've read through 15 pages but nobody has put a link to how to order from the student store site. Can you provide a link where one needs to validate the student status and place an order. thanks

You just go to the normal store site and click the students button.

Prices an extra hundred quid and I don't think you get the keyboard yoke... I'll wait for freshers week so!!

Prices are €296 for the 32 GB tablet only for the Surface RT and you need to verify student. Seems alot higher than the $199 that's qouted on the MS blog

It has been said about a hundred times on the thread that those are two completely different offers.

Lucky for CIT students. I phoned UCC students union this morning after no response from my email I sent. I was told that UCC had received nothing from Microsoft with regards this offer and would only look into this if they were approached directly by Microsoft. Furthermore they were just too busy with freshers week anyway! I forwarded them on all info I got from Mircosoft with order forms and few other but. So its looking highly unlikely for UCC students to avail of this!:(

Send them an email again with the link saying CIT are seriously thinking about doing it, won't be long changing their tune about it then.

What would be the best way to inform a college of this offer?

It would be great if you decided to put some information in your post. Can I assume that there is the student offer (as per my post) and there is also an offer to college's that students can avail off if the college has registered (and this is the cheaper offer) ?

First post "Seems like a good price anyone no where to buy them."

It is absolutely not BS. The only way was being able to get a purchase order. It is possible to get this offer but the college will need to facilitate it which I doubt they will..

I can confirm I have purchased two units through the OPs original link, using the Irish order form that was posted awhile ago. Took about a week.

    Joseph,

who did you contact within your institution to get a purchase order (I think there are two required fields in the form relating to the institution) i.e. lecturer, college admin, department head?

    Thanks.

It was a bit of a unique situation so won't be able to help on that front, I just thought I would post to at least show that Microsoft are validating this offer even if it is very difficult.
