Nobody seems to be mentioning anything about Zaha, will he be a good prospect or does he still need more time to develop

Very disappointed we didnt get Ozil

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 25,953 ✭✭✭✭kryogen

People have been calling for Zaha to be in the team, one is so enamoured with him he actually used the expression "left to rot" when talking about him not being involved (Chelsea and Liverpool games!)

edit: Also, Ozil, huge fan, one of the best in the world without a doubt, but not actually needed. The money it would have taken would have been better thrown at Fabregas

Kagawa at Dortmund was better than Ozil

Zaha has looked very encouraging. But hasnt had the chance to prove himself in the Premier league. He must be pretty fustrated. Our Wingers have been poor and Zaha has showed encouraging signs. seeing Arsenal sign Ozil and we are likely getting Fellaini is not what I want to see. Fellaini is a difficult player for oppenents to deal with but is he that talented for a top team. Im not so sure

Van Persie wasn't a vital area of concern either last year but look how he turned out.

If there's a chance of signing a world class player, you do it. Unless you're United, in which case you say "No, thank you" when the world class player is actually offered to you.

I'd much prefer we focus all efforts on the problem areas where we are desperately short first. Ozil was never going to be cheap.

I imagine the asking price was too high when we were offered him last week and this might have meant less money for more vital areas plus its pretty clear that it was going down to the wire regarding our transfer deals so we may be in a position where we have to pay buy out clauses to get players in.

If that means we had to let him go to Arsenal so we could spend elsewhere I am fine with that. We have two very good player in that position already.

I put it another way after to another poster(name escapes me) afterwards.

It was the worst performance I had seen from United in 24 years where the opposition were also ****.

the 1-6s the 5-0s to Chelsea and Newcastle at least in them games those teams played well also. Liverpool were sooooo bad yesterday and yet we somehow were worse.

It's called the Republic Of Ireland effect: We play inferior teams and somehow get dragged down to their level:(

    So Pissed off.

Another shocking day. I actually can't understand how Woodward and United can be so inept, it is mind boggling.

3rd place this season., at best.

SSN as some serious sh1t stirrers

The are running this Deadline Day: Roma reject UTD offer for De-Rossi

Its just a rehash about Fridays bid but its on the site today. To me its purposely misleading and set out to look like we have had a 2nd bid rejected today or our first bid went in today and was rejected.

When you read the article it mentions Fridays bid and has nothing about a new bid.

We aren't going to be spending it elsewhere. Fellaini at best.

United just being cheap this summer. Not willing to pay what's required. Would rather allow other teams to overtake us than spend the cash to push on.

Profits for the glazers, that's the priority.

Incidentally I think Fellaini is the type of player that could be turned into a star at United. However I'm not sure what the current coaching staff are like. If he had the right attitude I think he could be brilliant. He has height, strength, power, a good touch, good in the air, not bad with the ball at his feet. I think playing with better quality players would only improve him.

I guess all we can cling onto is the fact things are quite at United nothing has been confirmed or ruled out... Theres still ten hours left and we have seen big names come in late before so i guess who knows.

Whatever happens happens im trying to not get worried about it because lets face it we could all give out on here for the rest the season wont make **** all difference.

Ive been annoyed since early in summer right back to the Thiago situation but didnt make a difference did it ? I was told i was stupid didnt know what i was talking about and needed to wait till end the window well here we are!

I think we will sign someone weather its the kinda player we all wanted.......

You saying we need Ozil? I thought you were worried about CM not ACM.

Its just anything negative at this stage for some posters.

Plus we have tried to spend it elsewhere four or five times. Fellaini and another player have been areas openly targeted by UTD in this window.

To say we are being cheap and not wiling to spend is a lie. You are simply ignoring all the evidence to the contrary because things have not gone well so far.

Profits for the glazers? Give over, we have made many signings since they took over.

Think the fans were shouting 'Don't sell Ozil' at the Bale presentation.

Fellaini is useful but it's not exactly a signing to get overly excited about. Is he that much better than what's already there? Not by much.

BBC Sport chief football writer Phil McNultyFELLAINI TO MAN UTD?

"I'm told talks between Everton and Manchester United are progressing and this deal should now be concluded successfully before the deadline, as most of us have expected.

"It is understood Fellaini has been given permission to delay linking up with the Belgium squad for their World Cup qualifiers against Scotland and Croatia to enable him to complete the transfer - once it's all been agreed of course."

The Daily Mail are reporting that Everton have agreed a £12.5m fee for Wigan's James McCarthy.

....Six hours, nineteen minutes, right ascension, fourteen degrees, twenty-two minutes declination... no signing.

Six hours, nineteen minutes, right ascension, fourteen degrees, twenty-three minutes declination... no signing.

Six hours, nineteen minutes, right ascension, fourteen degrees, fifty-eight minutes declination! ...no signing.

I'd say Fellaini will be our lot today.

No - i am saying the reason we didn't go for Ozil is not because we need the money elsewhere. I'm saying we didn't go for Ozil because we didn't want to sign him.

I'm saying we are, at best, going to sign Fellaini for half the price of Ozil - and it just isn't freaking good enough.

Well bale won't be able to understand anyway, once neymar picked barca, Madrid seem as if they want to make a point, 80m plus is daftness for bale,

    Two updates

    First Herrera
Graham Hunter ‏@BumperGraham @seanbell2461 Utd won't pay €36m at moment. I'm sure Ath B won't negotiate ... so no go, sadly

    Secondly Fellaini

If Fellaini is worth signing why wait until deadline day to pay more than/slightly less than/close to his release fee?

Not exactly a wholehearted endorsement of his value to the team or the manager that we were happy to start the season without him when we have a clear and obvious need for a player in his position.

Hope he's not one of these Tevez types that needs to feel loved.
