If we lose Carrick or RVP we are in trouble too.

Carrick staying injury free is crucial to our season.

I would still be pretty confident we would be top three though, if we lose either of them we could forget about being realistic title challengers, but we should still be taking enough points off the rest to get top 3!

Feel happy for Bale. Seems like a nice chap and the price tag is not something he decides, so hopefully he is able to take the pressure.

Even had a go at speaking Spanish at the presentation. Fair play lad.
Like him myself. He was the player I most hoped we'd get over the last 2 years. But not to be. He always mentioned he'd like to play in Spain and we were always unlikely to pay that much money.
    Best of luck to him.

Should giggs retire and focus on being a coach? I think yes.

I think Giggs staying on the playing staff for this season is a good thing, but not as a starter. I think Moyes needs an experienced head in the squad who's been there through most of United's success during the past 20 years. There were moments yesterday where he showed the class he still has, e.g. controlling the ball as it drops over his head. I think he can still pick out a pass, can still get a cross in and can still score if through on goal. However I don't think he can start a game. He should be kept as that experienced link between the Fergie era and the new Moyes era, and used as an impact sub at best.

What I don't want is Moyes to become over reliant on him, which I fear may happen.

Not looking positive so far. Joey Barton would improve our midfield as it stands. Still can't believe we didn't sign someone early on in the window.

Anyone see the lad plugging his wheelie bin business on Sky Sports News?

Kept reversing, and accelerating behind the reporter.
Sky Sports reporter, so probably a lot of rubbish available

Ozil undergoing medical for Arsenal now.

He is doing the medical in Germany as he is there on international duty is what I'm hearing.

Although he is a good player he is not the vital area of concern.

Yes the thing about Carrick getting injured is united would have a truly second rate central midfield on par with middle to lower table club.

EDIT: If there are no signings... I doubt there'll be no signings.

Ha I won't watch Breaking Bad until at least Fellaini is signed. Needs my full concentration and my mind would be elsewhere.

There's no gif in all the internets that can adequately portray my anger/disappointment.

    Feck sake.

Just a difference of opinion I guess :)

I didn't get how you could call it the worst performance you had seen in 24 years or so either but I respect your right to think that :)

    I tend to agree.

Its not so much Ozil is not coming to us, its the fact that they are signing a world class player and we aint.

Ozil undergoing medical for Arsenal now.

Ballbag has tweeted that and said that Herrera to us is still possible,I'll clutch at any straws at this stage.

Serious rumours that Khediera to Chelsea could happen today.

I went for a run and was convinced everything would happen in the hour I was gone.
Can be online for the rest of the day and probably will be for most of it! Woodward had better not leave me hanging...

    Expectations:
    Fellaini = not bad
    Fellaini + Baines = good
    Fellaini + Baines + Herrera = excellent
    Nobody = #*&$*%^*#

I agree. We have Kagawa, we don't need Ozil. Now if only we could start using him.

"united trying to work on a strategy" is what they just said. lol.

I put it another way after to another poster(name escapes me) afterwards.

It was the worst performance I had seen from United in 24 years where the opposition were also ****.

the 1-6s the 5-0s to Chelsea and Newcastle at least in them games those teams played well also. Liverpool were sooooo bad yesterday and yet we somehow were worse.

I know what you mean but i think fi there is ANYTHING to take my mind from this shambels of a transfer window - its BB!

Come on Davey - just sign someone fast then while we are distracted and breathing a sigh of relief......sign someone else!!

Van Persie wasn't a vital area of concern either last year but look how he turned out.

If there's a chance of signing a world class player, you do it. Unless you're United, in which case you say "No, thank you" when the world class player is actually offered to you.

We weren't actually "worse" though, you would have to say we were the team most in control of the game, we could just have been out there till next Sunday and not scored/created much

Not a chance of all 3(Fellaini + Baines + Herrera) coming in, not a snowballs chance in hell. At this stage be happy with Fellaini

Carrick also had one good season last year. While he is a good player. There are better in other teams. Sandro who was on the bench for spurs I would rate higher than Carrick. We need Nani to get back on top form. This would provide much more creativity. Kagawa also needs to be used effectively. Welbeck just isint clinical in the final third. Valencia played much better as a RB against Liverpool. A. Young just a useful squad player. Cleverly I dont think is good enough for Manchester United. I rate Anderson higher and it is a shame he had two cruciate ligament injuries. Our attacking play under Moyes has been very discouraging. Liverpool were very poor in the second half, yet we couldnt capitlize
