Would be grateful of opinions please, basically, which one?

    Mignolet Daniels
    Coleman Zabaleta Shaw Ward Toure
    Sinclair Ramsey Silva Barkley Walcott
    RVP Sturridge Dzeko

    Mignolet Daniels
    Coleman Zabaleta Shaw Ward Toure
    Sinclair Paulinho Cazorla Walcott Barkley
    Aguero Sturridge Benteke

Not playing the wildcard until after this gameweek but what to you guys think of this?
Light in midfield but still have Walcott and Silva
Defenders + Goalie cover Liverpool, Arsenal, United, Everton and Chelsea
    Strong attack, albeit without RVP

Ramsey really in great form at the moment. No guarantee that Dzeko going to keep his place. I don't really know anything about Paulinho.

All in all I like the look of the second choice but there is no way I'd have both Santi and Walcott. Can you get Silva in instead of one of them?

Good team, I just can't hit the 'make transfers' button on City strikers at the minute as I just don't know if Pellegrini will be a rotator.

    McGregor
    £4.5
    Mignolet

    Defenders
    Hangeland
    £5.0
    Fonte
    £4.5
    Jones
    £5.0
    Collins
    £4.5
    Coleman
    £5.1
    Midfielders
    Yaya Toure
    £8.6
    Ward-Prowse
    £4.5
    Larsson
    £6.0
    Jarvis
    £5.5
    Silva
    £9.1
    Forwards
    Van Persie
    £14.0
    Soldado
    £9.5
    Dzeko
    £7.6

Looks to me like your whole team has been sacrificed to accomadate RVP.
Two city mids. Overkill here. One of those is enough, I'd leave Silva in
Defense is quite weak imo considering all the bonus points defenders are hovering up.
Great attack, but again, at what price??

Yeah I can get Silva, my dilemma is I can't just follow through at the minute with my strikers, want a City striker in there but too early to guess Pelegrini's intentions.

He probably will be but I reckon Aguero is guaranteed a place. Maybe this weekend will give a clearer picture

Team as it stands for this weekend is 4-5-1

    Mignolet
    Collins, Enrique, Vidic, Zaba, Coleman
    Santi, Theo, Silva, Nolan
    Aguero

Very tempted to swap Paulinho for Nolan

I am trying to convince myself that playing Santi and Theo isn't madness.
Podolski being injured is helping me view Walcott as basically being a FW.

I was thinking Aguero might play due to the type of striker he is(obviously quality too), Dzeko and Negredo are two big men and my thinking was Pelegrini might prefer one big man, one little man.

I was looking at Santi and Theo myself. Too many options, head might explode :)

a 4-2-2-2 is a possible formation to accommodate them all by playing the following 4 up front.

    Aguero - Silva

    Dzeko - Negredo

I reckon Aguero could be deployed a bit deeper in the future. When Jovetic comes in that changes things again though..

Reading this and all I could think of was this :pac:

There really are too many options to choose from and it can only get worse before the window closes. I don't recall a time when there was so many rotation options opening up.

Not even just Man City, Chelsea, Man Utd and even Liverpool when Suarez comes back. Even old reliables of last year Berb and Lambert have competition in Bent and Osvaldo. Norwich have the Wolf, Hooper and now Elmander. Everton has no clear option. Even Benteke will see some goals be shared with Weimann and Gabby.

Who knows who or what Spurs and Arsenal will bring in during these final days. I wish the window closed last week because all of this planning could be futile in a few days time.

Key when wildcarding is having players who will play each week at the very least. Im going to up the value of my defence for definite with the wildcard after the deadline

Right, I think I've decided on a side,

    DeGea----Daniels
    Coleman---Zabaleta---Shaw----Ward---Toure
    Walcott--Ramsey--Sinclair--Barkley--Paulinho
    ----Benteke--- RVP---Sturridge

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 16,305 ✭✭✭✭Mr.Prodston

I've actually started considering Rooney as an alternative to RVP today. Look at what happens when I leave my mind become idle :pac:

The midfield has a very short term feel to it. Ramsey and Barkley could easily lose their places. Sinclair hasn't played for a year, I'd be surprised if he was starting every week. If someone like Eriksen arrives at Spurs, Paulinho's role could change.

Defence and up front is fine. Midfield is weak though.

With Sinclair, I've a feeling he could perform like he did at Swansea, he did very well there and could be great value at £6m.

Ramsey is getting rave reviews at the minute so should be set too get a run. At £5.5m.

Paulinho seems very keen to get forward and I think he could get goals.

Barkley is just in the side and you never know how it might turn out. Looks promising though.

    I understand our points though, here is my alternative draft;

    DeGea Daniels
    Coleman Walker Shaw Zabaleta Ward
    Walcott Silva Paulinho Barkley Sinclair
    Aguero Sturridge Lambert

Put a couple more of attacking players in there, Walker being a wingback basically does more attacking than Toure and Silva plays higher up the pitch than Ramsey.

I mean what players to bring in. If I got rid of yaya would free up some cash for defense

I reckon Toure will be out for a month at least, swap him out for Dawson. I like the Ramsey pick.

Thinking of taking Toure out, getting in Walker due to his attacking style.

    DeGea Daniels
    Walker Zabaleta Coleman Ward Shaw
    Walcott Ramsey Barkley Sinclair Paulinho
    RVP Sturridge Dzeko

(If Dzeko is to be the subject of rotation then I've 0.8m in the bank so can alternate him with good options)

    DeGea Daniels
    Walker Zabaleta Coleman Ward Shaw
    Walcott Silva Paulinho Barkley Sinclair
    Aguero Sturridge Lambert

(Taking out RVP, frees up funds so I can afford a more expensive midfielder, even though I think Ramsey is great value, just sticking Silva there to show an alternative and he scores well too)

Will go for one of these, haven't decided yet. I need a push. Ha. Silva obviously scored well in previous years but I've a good feeling about Ramsey too. Think all the strikers could score bags of goals but I've rotation fear.

I've backed myself into a corner. Hadn't planned on using the wildcard until the international break but have left myself with a few players left out and substitutes who don't get games.

    Screen_Shot_2013_08_29_at_11_26_52.png

Thoughts so far are to drop Kagawa, Hazard, Dzeko, and of course Morrison, Brayford and Davis. Any ideas guys?

You could improve your defense ya. A lot of bonus points are being given to central defenders who keep a clean sheet.
RVP really limits what you can do with your team imo. But that's just my opinion and there are plenty of FF players who will play RVP
I won't tell anyone to sell him though. Very much a personal choice

I think Dawson is under severe pressure to keep his place at Spurs, even before they get Chiriches, Kaboul will be battling hard for that place alongside Verthongen, I wouldn't go there at the moment.

    rate this wc team

    boruc

    coleman lescott whittaker, (chester) (ward)

Walcott Lampard Nolan Brady (4.5m mid)

    RVP, Benteke, Augero

It is top heavy and thus my mid and defenders are weak. I'm happy with Lescott and Coleman. Lampard looks a certainty with Jose back and the signing of William will only eat into Hazards game time imo.

    Opinions?

Lampard is likely to play quite often but a certainty? I wouldn't think so, if he is first choice he'll play champs league, he's 35 now and won't play two games a week too often, Mourinho has options.
Lescott is a big worry also,
    Top notch strike force!

I'm just wondering why people assume the Champions League is first choice for clubs?

Mourinho, for example, has often been quoted as saying that knock out competitions are a lottery and a league where teams are assessed continuously over a number of games has to be the main aim for a side.

If anything, PL sides have rotated to their lesser players in the CL in recent years IMO.

I did say looks a certainty ;) the problem with Chelsea's mids is they have too many, add in William and it will be impossible to pick there attacking 3 midfielders, i would like to try oscar but he will no doubt be roated also, i don't want to be left without Chelsea coverage, I see them as favs for the league but it is impossible to find a bargain way into their team, i am going to chance Lampard for now. Lescott will get a chance to nail down a spot in the City defence, with natasic already out and Kompany out for the next month or so he has little competition imo. Would love to go with Zab but i can't find the extra .5
