Spent a good hour tonight working on my phone tonight with UCCW. Very pleased with how it came out.

    I now have a pipboy-3000.

Got a screenshot? Would love to see it.

I've decided to keep mine as stock for the moment, after changing my S3 nearly 40 times as well as putting various ROMs on it.

I've finally pulled the trigger and ordered a One. My trusty desire s is starting to do funny things and it needs to be charged everytime I use the GPS - which is a lot when you're living in a funny country. I still think it's too big but the only other option for me was the xperia ZR which there is still no sign of release in these parts. Anyway, it should be at home when I get back, I must admit that I'm having a bit of a kid at christmas moment :D

anyway, it's been a while since I've rooted anything and I'm a bit busy today to go searching around xda so could anybody link me to a recommended root/s-off etc. method, please?

Can't take any credit for it though, found it on Reddit a while ago.

But since the day I got my Hero, I've always wanted a good pipboy theme.

All the hotspots are cool. On the map, if I touch Home, it shortcuts to Directions from my location to my house, and so on. The Rads = the temp. And so on.

Shouldn't have taken an hour, but was having a problem with UCCW finding zip files.

Did anyone get the HTC media link and if so what do they think of it?
It's the one thing I miss from the Samsung phone as all my TVs are samsung an it was a handy inbuilt feature being able to flick the vidoe etc across to the big screen without needing a device in between.

I got one for €40. Great little device. Have it hooked up to the tv constantly.
    Great for YouTube.
Can watch Netflix on the phone and fire it up on the TV.
    Doesn't work with skygo though.

    Yeah, streaming in hd now.
It's very good, however every now and again the voice skips a second ahead before it fixes itself.

I'm surprised they don't have it blocked like skygo!
Only a matter of time I suppose.

in fairness to Netflix they don't really care..heck they even allow you to share out ur account to other people..as long as they're getting more and more subscribers they're happy.
Of course once they're big and massive and the main leader in online TV it could all change :)

Anyone get the google keyboard working on the htc one? downloaded and installed it. Went to start it and was given the option of enabling in settings. Clicked link to go to keyboard settings and no option for it there

Same here, known issue. There's very little difference between them though.

I'm not sure if the are still any One X owners here but I just flashed Maximus 20 with Sense 5 and it given the phone a whole new lease of life.

UI is super smooth and we finally have quick toggles the official ota should be pushed out in the coming weeks :)

How does it differ from ARHD?

It's identical they as both stock ROM's.
I'm usually a ARHD man but mike has to wait three days untill Footballs exclusiveity runs out before publishing his version.

Honesty it's like having a new phone, Sense 5 is incredible !

    Footballs exclusivity? Whut?

We're not all regulars on XDA here. Err on the side of ignorance.

Haha sorry I just made assumptions :p

The Dev behind Maximus Rom has requested 3 days of exclusifity from fellow Rom chefs.

So ARHD wont be available till tuesday, there are links floating about with the download but some people had issues flashing it so I just went with Maximus.

Why did he ask for it, and why did he get it? O would've thought it was a free for all, and rightly so.

EDIT: Also, I don't get it. I'm on stock HTC with Sense 5 for yonks now. Why the delay on the 3rd party ROMs?

Threw that onto my old oneX out of curiosity today. Its like a new phone in terms of responsiveness

Ah I'm a muppet, I thought we were talking about the One. Must upgrade ARHD for the wife next week. Will upgrading wipe her settings? Can it be done OTA? Haven't done a ROM upgrade in yonks.

    Thanks OP.

Looks like it needs a full wipe. Took me a couple of flashes (1st one booted but had no SU binary for root or any google apps :/ )

My gmail app doesn't get mail automatically / I don't get notifications for new mails and have to manually go into the app and refresh it to see new mail, same with Facebook - I won't get notifications for new mails (but get them fine for comments etc).

Any ideas? It worked fine before but now it doesn't!
I have very similar issue- I have notifications set to off. But is it possible for gmail app to update/check fir new mails whenever I open the app (like Facebook does)?

also of I have notifications set to on how much more battery died it use? Only reason I have then turned off is to save battery.

Last question- can you take a photo without unlocking the phone? One thing I miss from my iPhone.
    Cheers

Notifications hardly use much battery compared with push pull retrieval of email?
Can you not just set the notification to silent if you want the email but not the noise?

If you remove the security unlock you can launch any of the main applications from the bar by unlocking using that icon instead of the padlock.

This update has me back on my one x from my nexus 4 at the moment. I love stock android but I forgot how brilliant the screen on the HTC is. Camera completely pisses over the n4 too.
    Decisions hard!!

Wifi a little unstable on the rom though. Dropped a couple of times

Sense 5 ARHD has also just been released for the HOX.

Looking forward to ViperX version of this myself.
