@ darego: Good starting XI but what is your 'exit strategy'?

By GW3 you will have Cech (and no reserve keeper), Terry, Hazard and Benteke with no game. You will also have worries over Dzeko and his playing time, Toure and Coutinho will be playing Man U and Walcott and Soldado have the North London derby.

The bench isn't strong enough to cover that, even allowing for your 2 FTs

planning on wild carding for GW2, to get in on all the bandwagons and sort the chelsea players/ beneteke out since they have no game as you said in GW3. did the same last year and it worked out well

basically going for the strongest GW1 team i can find

I think I'm finally satisfied with this.. but if anyone gets injured it will screw up my plans..

Week One - If Lukaku isn't the main strike force at Chelski he will be out in favour of more than likely Bony, but it depends how he's doing over at Swansea. If he ends up being the main striker I will possibly swap out Dzeko for someone else. More than likely going to be plenty of rotation over at City with their abundance of strikers.

Week Two - Cole to Terry or maybe a non Chelsea player for GW 3. Might look at Coleman if he's doing well.

Week Three - Possibly swap to a 4-3-3 to accomodate for Chelsea not playing. Either that or bring on Morrisson. Really depends how he is doing.

I've gone for Sturridge upfront. I also have Coutinho. I have no Man City players and was thinking of which will score more points a combo of

    Coutinho/Sturridge

    Or

    Silva/Sturridge

With everyone going for Coutinho I'm leaning towards Silva.

Also thoughts on Nolan over Mirallas. Nolan is .5m cheaper and in far less teams. Nolan also has the easiest first 6 fixtures. Anyone else think Nolan might be the better option.

Finally, I have Walcott and Giroud. I usually don't like having 2 of my front 7 front the same team but think this combo might run well together.

I have Giroud, Sturridge, Soldado as my top three right now. All 3 gtd starters and goalscorers for top 5 teams. Any thoughts?

    @Jax

A for me. Mertesaker may outscore Toure alright but your lack of a back-up 4.5 defender (namely Turner) you have to hope all 3 are fit realistically plus there'll be weeks when you really wouldn't fancy Coleman to keep a clean-sheet. I'm not sure if Brayford will actually start at RB it could be Connolly with Hudson and Caulker at CB

Thoughts on my team lads? RVP is a major headache but if I don't have him in it could cost me badly

All I know about Navas is

    He's from Spain
    Has nervous breakdowns
    Is good at football

You reckon he will be as certain a starter as Silva? Also is it not a big risk to pay 9.0 for a player with severe, well documented mental problems, playing in his first season abroad?

I'm all for convincing though. Love having a punt on someone with a bit of character.

Mignolet has only missed 1 game in his last 56 games . So I'd be pretty happy with just him for the time being .
Ward should start for Palace , i don't think they've another RB and Turner is back in .

Think Bony could be this year's Benteke but I'm not getting him in for the start. Think he'll need a little time to start firing.

Kagawa has just scored for Japan, would worry about him starting Saturday after travelling half way around the world.

Yeah I have Ward myself too he seems like the best Palace option and they have the most favourable GW3 fixture too of the cheap players which is when he may be needed. That does look stronger overall and Mig really should be playing every game.

He will probably be back in manchester before most of the squad. He will be fresh and ready to go for training friday morning. Huge difference in having a game in japan compared to south america because of the time difference.

Ok so boils down to this for me.

    Walcott hazard silva Nolan Kim
    Soldado Giroud Sturridge

    Or

    Walcott hazard Coutinho Mirallas Kim
    Soldado Giroud Lukaku
(And use .5m to upgrade weak DEF no.3 from 4.5m to 5.m option)

    Or

    Walcott hazard Coutinho Nolan Kim
    Soldado Sturridge Lukaku

Please give some analysis as to your choice.

    Thanks

I have a feeling he will play.. I wanted Nani as I am expecting big things this season from him but hes currently injured..

Only other options are Zaha and Valencia.. Kagawa will be played if Rooney is still "injured"

    For me its option B..

I would class Mirallas as being better than Nolan, especially considering he is 'out of position' since he is classed as a MF but generally plays closer to the front. Could you put Silva in there over Coutinho? Coutinho looks great and all but is a bit of a gamble compared to Silva for the same price.

Nothing wrong with your strike force. I'm not the biggest fan of Giroud though. Is Bony the same price? Or perhaps go with Dzeko.

Is Dzeko likely to be staring saturday (seems a big gamble with both Negrego and Jovetic signed)

Pelligrini has said Dzeko is his main man. Performing well in preseason.

I can imagine there will be plenty of rotation though.. Aguero won't want to be benched. Negredo is a £29m signing so he would be a very expensive bench warmer. Jovetic is still young so will probably be last in line for chances..

It's a 12 hour flight to and from Japan that's a full day travelling , that's bound to affect anybody never mind a professional footballer . I don't think he started many games last season after coming back from International duty .

    I wouldn't spend 5.5 on a sub keeper.

    What's the thinking behind Giroud

Right lads, great to have this back, I've put together a team quickly just now, here it is!

    Cech, Westwood

    Brayford, Toure, Coleman, Cuellar, Terry

    Walcott, Hazard, Mirallas, YaYa, Huddlestone

    Sturridge, Soldado, Anelka.

.5 left in the bank, will probably downgrade defence once the 4m starters become more obvious, Bale to replace Hazard probably if the situation sorts itself.
Anyway I think its not a bad starting team. What ye think? Haven't read the other threads here yet, so much to get through, ye really are a sad bunch of f##ckers:P
