Well then I'll keep him, I'm just saying I'm hardly going to accept an offer of 24-28m if I paid 22m for him, especially looking at the market and other transfers

And as long as this goes on, the more smaller clubs managers are going to lose interest because there is just no way to compete with the bigger boys...

Suppose it might be realistic in that regards, but some of the fees being asked for are anything but.

Max I could offer, cash only and based on chairman, is 34m, and I know, unfortunately, that won't be enough to get you to budge, so have opted to shortlist him and avoid 10 new messages every time I log on :P Mainly dropping out because if I spend that, it's me done for the window, and I'd rather try and negotiate a few deals than one big one...

30 million was my limit, its a joke even if you save enough money to compete with big clubs the game engine makes sure you cant win. :D

Id agree to a point.... yes we cant compete NOW.... but in a few years its all about who has the upcoming talent! Hence the scramble for newly added players

I've a squad of 23 players, i have to sell to buy.
Seen a squad size of over 100 players yesterday - not wanting to drag up an old debate, but that's just mental.

People argue upcoming talent is important but that could take 4+years.
How many of us will still be playing then i wonder? Hopefully all of us but who knows?

To be perfectly honest, I really can't see myself still on here in 4 years.
Maybe, but i really doubt it.

Yeah I doubt the majority of us will be here in 4 years time as look at the amount of rotation of managers already, it's probably more a year or 2

Any young talent I'm buying is to make small sums of money when their rating rises, not for years down the line when I probably won't even be here and the chances of them rising that much are slim

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,917 ✭✭✭✭GT_TDI_150

ok, so Frank Lampard is on the TL, his face value is 9m and he is rated 93 while being 35 yrs old.

I offered Esteban Granero valued 7.7m, rated 89 and is 26yrs old +5m.

may be a little cheeky but I didnt think it was very cheeky ...

    The counter ...

    0k + Matthias GINTER(19yr-86r-6m + Stevan JOVETIĆ(23yr-91r-15m)

why list the player if the negotiations are going to go like that?

  • Moderators, Computer Games Moderators Posts: 6,345 Mod ✭✭✭✭PerrinV2

Can only presume it was joke counter offer

I'll be honest, any club nowadays that sends offers like that back, I tend to not just ignore, but blacklist for future transfers as well. There's a few clubs who when I try and even start negotiations, fire back that offer. There's one or two managers I can't help but feel are holding a personal grudge that I won't sell them Bale, and several who seem to not want to even talk with me unless I'm offering Bale for their worst players. Guess what; when the time comes to sell Bale, I'll remember who was helpful and who was not with transfers ;)

Its why, being honest, I've got to thank the likes of Valencia and Hamburg who were so great to do business with so far this break (and the guy who I wrapped up negotiations with earlier today, but won't name till the deal goes through; you know who you are, and I love how easy the deal was to broker, so thanks), as well as the likes of Real, Newcastle and even yourself GT, who even when I make an offer they don't want to accept, turn it down in a polite and mannerly way; no sarkyness or stupid counter offers.

probably, but if he has no interest in selling a player, take him off the list!

There's a few clubs who when I try and even start negotiations, fire back that offer.

    That annoys me the most.

I don't think people realize that I'm actually willing to negotiate on offers.
Instead they either send back stupid counter offers or just ignore my future bids.

    This may sound silly...
But I think a lot of people are to afraid to even start negotiations.

How often must you log into fantasy football etc? Is it time consuming? I've never played

It takes up about an hour a week in total for me. Check results and how teams/players play after the weekend. Then on a Friday night or Saturday morning I make a couple of transfers if needed and pick my team for the weekend.
Some people will spend hours researching players and who's playing what and where etc but it's bot necessary IMO

Will probably spend about half an hour or an hour a week then.

Dave Shadow has guided Tottenham Hotspur to a SMFA Shield Final win against Valenciennes!! Tottenham Hotspur beat Valenciennes 5 - 1 in a sensational final to lift the trophy.
Vertonghen scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.
Diouf and Hernández were also amongst the goalscorers.

    Bale with 2 goals.
Hernandez & Diouf with a goal and an assist each.

First manager to win two trophies in one season! :D And 2.5m prize money.

100% agree with you, a squad of 100 is totally mental......

Should be aiming for at least double that ;)

    No joke

Not afraid, I'd say its more like, why even bother draw it upon themselves as you can 99% of the time guess how it will end up!!!

Hence why I've somewhat abandoned that stratagy, I will throw an oul left field offer every now and then but for the most part I don't even bother anymore.....

But, not saying you can blame the managers with the players are their clubs too, they are only trying to get the best offers they can.... Obviously though some are taking the piss

The trouble is though, that is exactly what it is....

Anyway moving on, I'm 9th with a D4 team - kinda chuffed with that.

Any D4 managers in the house? Your votes cast for MOTS is lagging well behind the other divisions:eek:.

The 'most competitive league' in the GW also has the most votes cast:cool:

    Votes Number %
    Total Votes Cast 18 22.50%
    D1 Votes Cast 5 25.00%
    D2 Votes Cast 8 40.00%
    D3 Votes Cast 4 20.00%
    D4 Votes Cast 1 5.00%
