It's much more rewarding getting promoted and/or winning leagues with minnow teams than the likes of Real Madrid, etc

It wasn't directed at you, I just mean I'd rather bring a team up than get a team already at the top

Haven't had access to internet for close to three weeks, sorry to everyone who has messaged me. PSG recalled Momo Sissoko for the last few games so the computer put Connor Wickham in at DM :roll eyes:
Delighted to reach the play off finals. Feel it's gonna be a game about former players. Martinez vs Jovetic. Let;s see who performs better

Ah i see palmero sold a 90 rated GK at cost price to an external club,he really must be competitive. numerous teams in all divisions would of been interested in singing landreau.

If your reading this palmero, well done on that deal we did together,13m for corluka....i was an idiot all the fecker does is give away free kicks and rates no better than a donkey. FFS i sold john o'shea for 5m and bought his equal for 13m. :D

Well you will only get the minimum offer from an external club, sure I have offers for Pelle and Digard and keeping them in reserve to sell to external for minimum if needs be!

It depends on who he is going after with the cash to be fair, he was probably getting no interest and needed the cash fast ;)

have you ever seen him post on this??

ah transfers...this is where boards.ie really can give you an advantage.(if your selling)

Was Landreau on the transfer list?

Definitely would have paid twice what was received.

Yup, and I think he was asking a reasonable price for him as far as I remember, I was not interested as my keeper is surely due to go to 90 being Italy's sub keeper and sure Buffon can''t go on forever!!!!

Would be a waste of money for me, but he was going for a reasonable price as far as I recall ;)

Well the first season of the leagues comes to an end tonight with the 3 play-off finals,

In about an hours time we will know the final three teams who have secured promotion.

    Division 2 Play-off Final:

    FC Porto v Fiorentina

The league meetings between these two sides give an aggregagte score off 3-3 with both winning their away fixture 2-1.

Fiorentina have the better form coming into the match, but Porto had a thumping win in the semi final with Fiorentina having a nail biting penalty shoot out.

It is hard to call but I fancy Porto for this.

    Division 3 Play-off Final:

    Olympiacos v Besiktas

From the league meeting Besiktas have a 4-3 aggregate lead, both have good form coming into this, both winning their previous two competitive fixtures. This is a tough one to call,

I am going for Olympiacos in this one, narrowly though.

    Division 4 Play-off Final:

    Hamburger v Marseille

My own division here, Marseille seemed to be in the running all season but a late run of form was all that saw them clinch a play-off spot. Perfect timing to get that form and they had a thumping win themselves in the semi-final. It is 6-5 to Hamburger if you take the aggregate in this one, home advantage might be the difference here in this one and Hamburger have great recent form to back it up,

But I am going for Marseille, although they would have liked an automatic spot I think they have found form again at the right time.

Best of luck to all involved tonight!

Looks like the change of tactics from 4-2-2-2 at the end of the league to a 4-2-3-1 for the play-offs paid off!!

Mr Freeze has guided FC Porto to a Play-Off Final win against ACF Fiorentina!! FC Porto beat ACF Fiorentina 3 - 1 in the final to lift the trophy.
Giggs scored a goal and was later voted Man of the Match for his performance.
Gebhart and Modrić were also amongst the goalscorers.

Commiserations to Fiorentina ... get your self promoted next seasons mate!

fairplay Anthony Cameron, even though im managing hes rivals, for the job he did at Panathinaikos just missing out on survival by a goal, my friend had them all season n he just could not get enough good results and struggled they seemed dead n buried when he left them.

Thanks. To be honest I just picked my best players in their best positions, played 4-4-2 and tried to keep it tight. Gutted to go down by a goal but we'll see what next season brings.
