It's quite a bit faster, positioned close to the 840 Pro series. Still not worth it over the 840 though IMO.

Anyone watching The International. I'd like to poke holes in valves production but i really cant. its insane.

my only complaint would be that the in game client commentary isnt great but they allow you to watch in-game which no one else does

Hahaha. Scarlett is good. That's about it. NA scene is a joke. Goswer is European now. So sad Naniwa didn't perform as well as he can in WCS EU. Deok Deok played so risky in all three games, and Naniwa made to many mistakes.

I'm looking forward to Scarlett's games, she's legitimately good.

Ya shes class the problem is for her is that she has to play Jaedong in the semis is she wins her match which i cant see her winning. Jaedongs ZvZ winrate is like 90% isnt it

Naniwa either goes into god mode or essentially throws games, very inconsistent player

I find it so strange that MLG would drop sc2 when it should be fairly obvious that LOL or Dota dont need MLG and could easily tell MLG to go **** themselves and do it events on their own especially now that Tencent (Riots Owners) have a 25% stake in ActiBlizzard

It's a bit more complicated than that. Blizzard's business model for SC is very different to Riot's. For example, MLG pay Blizzard so that they can run an SC2 event. On the other hand, Riot actually pay MLG to run a LoL event. And apparently MLG were denied a license for this event, but more on that story front is still to come I think.

Didnt Blizzard deny that and said only red bull looked for the licence and its not an exclusive license. either way Blizzard are killing the game with how badly they messed up the tournament scene. and they've always been like that when you consider that the lack of LAN is down to they're fight with Kespa when kespa were the ones advertising a ten year old game

its especially bad when sc2 is the last of the BB RTS' and C&C Generals 2/f2p is garbage imo (mind it was an early beta and will likely stay in beta until next year)

Just ordered an Fx6300 and 7950 build on a whim. See what I can do with it. Got a Zalman T2, if I like how it looks, might just keep the build and sell my other one! My HAF is too big for my liking...

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 6,710 ✭✭✭Monotype

For gaming, the FX6300 is such good value alright in comparison Intel's lineup. I can only imagine this will improve too in the next generation of games.

I've being downsizing my cases over the years as well. When you're starting off, huge cases for upgrades and loads of fans seem like a great idea. Components have gotten cooler as well, so that's part of it. I don't know what the T2 is like, but I've found that there's a balance of saving some money and poor quality. Top cases are overpriced, but some of the rock bottom ones cut corners by having sharp corners, very thin metal which skews easily, screw-holes not fully cut (with sharp edges) as well pieces which don't quite fit together and poorer airflow. Budget cases are really coming forward with screwless designs coming into even the lowest end ones. I'd be interested to hear of your opinion on the T2, (which I'm not entirely sure how they can make money on for €20) as to be fair, it actually does look half-decent.

Speaking of which... has anybody noticed the number of AMD CPUs being recommended recently? The FX6300 in particular. Good news for AMD. There's a lot of people coming by looking for systems with €600 budgets... far more than in the past few years. Is this an influx of people considering the new consoles but think they'll get more value from a PC or is it the recession where previous budgets were €800-1K?

I think it's time to resurrect the Budget gaming thread. Or make a new one - maybe every month, since we don't have to rely on moderators. In the past there's been cycles of demand for particular budget, but at the moment, there's a lot of threads in this price region. Bloodbath has already put up two sample builds which demonstrates impressive capabilities on a tight budget for a near-complete system.

The NCase M1 production campaign has just gone live.

€180 ($240) shipped to Ireland. Get 'em while they're hot.

Even though having a tower has never really bothered me and I don't see it bothering me in the foreseeable future; I still have to say that that is a tidy looking little case.

It's just so wonderfully thought out. Any possible option in every possible space, and you can do it.

Also: Three freaking slots. Corsair, Fractal, Silverstone? Take notes!

Where can you order then from?

That is a very nicely designed case, love the way they have a solid conduit carrying the 240 power from the rear of the case to the PSU.

Must say i am damned tempted - though i dont plan on doing any new build until the next generation of sockets for AMD/Intel launch. Will this be limited production? Or will there be continued production after its launched? Im just wondering if i dont order it now will i have missed the boat.

At present, they have plans to only offer the Indiegogo campaign. That's not to say they won't do another one, or something in the future (no clue at all how likely anything like that is), but the only time you'll be able to get this case as it stands, is within the next 21 days.

€240ish landed with duty and taxes. Well 20 odd days to think over it.

    Great looking case.

    right, done!

If i dont get a chance to use it, hoping not to take too much of a hit selling it on. If they do a 20,000 production run immediately afterwards i would imagine the resale value will dip somewhat!

I might take it from you if you don't end up wanting it, I just don't have the money to throw at it right now.

Did you get the black or silver version?

Reports of cracked dies on Haswell chips following delids. Both occurred at random times, and weeks after the delidding. Two different compounds used (CLU and CLP), one occurred during power down, the other during stress testing. This could potentially halt all delidding in the overclocking community!

speaking of cases, I like the look of this-Phanteks Enthoo Primo-bit of a mouth full but looks interesting.
