That's me with the 1TB SSD.

Ah damn, and you can add a new monitor to that as well. The girlfriend is taking her monitor (the one I've been using) back to Canada with her in a couple of weeks, so I'll be stuck with a 22" 1680x1050 TN for a while. *shudder*

at least with 1TB ssd's there's 2 brands you know are decent. audio equipment is all expensive and there's a lot of crap at all price ranges and everything is subjective

Time to buy a korean monitor? :pac:

Buying audio stuff is fine. Just keep in mind what you want and don't stray from it. Problem solved.

I would, except that I can't live without USB ports on my monitor any more. I literally don't use anything else. So I think it's safe to say we can add a €500 U2713M to that list. :P

And point taken RE audio stuff. Truth be told, I'm not at all happy with the external card I got. I knew going in it would be a downgrade, but man. I want my Auzentech back.

buy a usb hub and tape it to the back of the monitor :pac:

Auzentech Forte? why did you change?

for me its tough regarding audio equipment as i use everthing (headphones, iem's and speeakers) so i:

    1) need to pick an external solution as theres no room in the case, ill prob just replace my essence one and go from there
    2) need to find suitable quality speakers to replace my old wooden bookshelf speakers that were sooo good :(

and heres the screenshot at the highest i saw it
    (Starcraft 2)

My FPS seems to stay around 60. It looks like it's locked that way.
Is that a setting in SC, is it a factor of your screens refresh rate or what's the deal?

I have an 3570k (stock speeds) and a HD 7950 running at 1440p.

That would be v-sync which you want enabled anyway. It prevents screen tearing and your card needlessly rendering frames that the monitor can't display so it reduces the load and power consumption.

I was under the impression CLU didn't work quite so well between IHS and cooler because of its consistency. Must get my hands on that stuff...

Its working well for me...I ran an IBT last night for the craic and it never passed 70c...I couldn't believe it..

Are you using a new-ish version of Prime? There shouldn't be that big of a difference between them. They both use the AVX instruction set now, and I've only ever seen 5-7° difference between the two.

(You should see "... using AVX FFT length ..." if it is.)

I will check when I get home...If its not the new version I will download it and forward the results..

Deathadder and Plantroncs arrived. First impressions were varied.

Deathadder got an, "Oh sweet, it's properly sized! Mmmm comfy." The last Razer mouse I used was small and angledy.

Plantronics got an, "USB?! ****.... These won't be coming to work with me..."

Received another order from specialtech and as usual something fecked up :(. I ordered some fittings, dye and some other bits.
Received it and 3 litres of dye where missing, the 4th litre was half full and the one important fitting out of all the fittings I ordered was wrong :(.
This puts me now at over 50% of orders I made to specialtech that fecked up in one way or another. (My sister ordered from them 4 times also with 100% of ordered fecked up from sending a pc case instead of watercooling gear to sending out an intel block instead of amd one etc)
I had also ordered another few things in the meantime. They said they would put 2 of the replacement litres of dye in this and would send the package out as a matter of urgency. Now with this order they decided in there infinite wisdom to send it with 5-10 day postage so they could save on the cost of resending the dye out even though they always sent stuff previously with 3 day fedex (lesson learned don't say your in a hurry for stuff when buying from them).
I've finally decided enough is enough with them and I will just get my last bits from them that where ordered or they owe me after feck ups and then go somewhere else with my cash :(.
Sorry rant is over now :P

WatercoolingUK was good when I ordered a couple of bits from them. Only ordered the once though.

I've ordered from Specialtech... six times? Nothing has ever been wrong, and two times I had to RMA products, it all went very quick and smooth. You have some horribly bad luck with them.

I will look into them. I was trying to use caseking.de but they dont show how many parts they hold in stock. They only show whether they have at least one.
Yea I really have had a really horrible time over all and I usually just say feck it and ignore it but this is the final straw and I think I will definitely use other services instead in the future.

Does anyone have any experience of playing GTA 4 on PC?

It's looking pretty pants at the moment. I was wondering if ye could recommend some of these mods I keep hearing about that make everything shiny and pretty.

Same here, picked it up in the sale. Its next on the list after Hitman absolution & Blood Dragon :)

    Few decent ones here.

    Also saw this today:

    Has to be done.

    Edit:

I used XLiveLess to disable Games For Windows Live as GTA4 does not play nice with Win8.

So I'm looking into building a server for my girlfriend's family. I've been wanting to upgrade my own server's processor for a while, so I'll be putting my current one in their build. Does anyone have a Sandy/Ivy i3/i5 for around €100-150 that they don't want? Won't need it for a couple of weeks at least.

Is there much difference between the new Samsung EVO ssd's and the 840 series? Looking for a new 500gb one and the 840 is £45 cheaper than the EVO on amazon!
