No I'm not. I'm the realist, remember :D

If it was a Busso, I'd nearly be tempted myself :)

    A busso with tax?
    Thats wishful thinking...
Is there anyway to find out how many are around?

Meant to ask you btw, what's happening with your bus, up for sale yet? :D

    BMW on the horizon?

Went to see E60 523 petrol last Monday. Cash in pocket, ready to do the deal etc. Nice car but your man failed to tell me the engine light was on. And during drive the traction light came on and stayed on. I walked away.

Have to buy a new car first before I can sell the bangernomics Saab :)

    My ads on adverts.ie:

Victron stuff for sale, Multiplus-II, Quattro, other inverters and batteries and usually some watches!

I'm not really in the market for one. Best mate has 3 Bussos (GTV, Spider and 166) and I can drive them on his insurance whenever I'm over. That's enough Bussos for me :D

Hate that rubbish, honesty is key, did he really think you wouldn't notice it!

I'd imagine you'll nearly get back what you paid for the Saab no?

Lads, get a fcukin room or fcuk off. Keep coming in here to see bangers and I end up with Marion on Sunday.

Nice bit of tax on this one.

This one looks way nicer but may be missing a 0 on the odometer
Still though, nct until next april, cheap and happy motoring.

I know you know your Alfa's way better than me, but does that 50 quid include both cam belt and aux belt as well as all the tensioners and idlers?

2.0 has another belt for the balance shaft too

+1, I'v been saying this for ages, posters should post a banger or get a ban imho

You buy for €800, get the belt done for €200, and you have a taxed and tested 156 for €1k with plenty of spec and the right wheels, where's the problem? You'd also shift it in 6 months time for what you paid for it.

    belt kit for £50 sterlings?
that 60 euro, so indys do twin spark belt for €140 labour? Not change pump? Variator? and if problem with belt not mechanics problem ;)

no way would car sell in 6 months for same price as buy now with the tax, silly to think it will. Alfa with no tax or test worth scrap money, alfa with test worth roughly the same.

    Alfa reliability mumble mumble grumble.
Dreading getting a quote for the timing belt on my uber reliable roadster. :pac:

    A banger for your troubles.

    Full?id=21823376

I was only thinking today how great these are to learn in.
Plenty of space, comfy, nippy, you can feel everything the car's doing and they really handle fairly well for what they are.
Best power output in it's class too afaik.

If I didn't want to go sideways, I probably would have bought a VZR.

    Will this do?
    4L v8 engine.
Tested until March next year. Youd probably get her for 900.

I don't agree with this post or other posts like this one.

This is a discussion board, if all some one wants to do is find the best deals of the day, then they may go to done deal and find them.
Posters should be more than welcome to discuss cars and possible expenses that go with them and they should feel like they're going to be bullied for doing it.

Test only valid for a bare month, needs front shocks, possibly needs power steering pump and who knows what else to pass. Tis quite a gamble even at €650.

Nice find, they're more reliable than people think. Added bonus that it passed the NCT only a few days ago.

The mind boggles, you know that! If you up the budget to €250 you'd get it done. A decent Indy is what €60 an hour labour, its about a three hour job I think, so no quite sure what your issue is there tbh. If you up it to four hours you'd get it done for about €300.

I really hate repeating myself to you but here goes. In six months time assuming the car goes through another NCT and has €200 worth of tax still on it, you'd easily get your €800 back.

I'm the one bull****ting when you're the one who says Alfa 156 with tax and test worth scrap value...

Anyway back to bangers, is post one if I wasn't on the phone!

No harm in discussing the specific cars that are featured here but thats not always what happens. There are plenty of other threads for general discussion, this one is pretty specific and I too find it annoying to see all the handbags at dawn stuff that is posted in it from time to time,

Again possible very cheap motoring here...

Only 92K on a 14 year old diesel is only seven and a bit thousand miles a year. Seems a bit low but if its genuine then it could be a seriously good buy.

    Horrible 1.8TD engines though?
    Very sluggish and noisy?
    But probably great MPG ..

Can't remember if these have the same engine as what's in the escort or the focus. If it's got the same engine as what's in the focus I wouldn't think it should be too slow.

just over bangernomics budget but if u can haggle it down, ticks many boxes for a decent jammer -

    - diesel
    - decent milage
    - long NCT
    - not astronomic motor tax
    - not ancient

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/03-fiat-multipla-1-9jtd-109k-nct-9-14/5370811

    of course there are cons

    - its a fiat
    - its a multipla
    - its purple
    - its a multipla

up it up it, you say €200 now lets say €300, and you say your own 156 job was €400

I not like repeating myself but you should read my post again - you not read it right first time, I put pieces in bold for you to help :) sorry you're mind Is a boggle, I cannot aid with that ...

can u confirm that for 50 sterling we get pump and variator too??

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 634 ✭✭✭cabb8ge

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/00-alfa-romeo/5415492

this ok maybe for €400 maximum, NCT for 9 month, not asking too much more than the scrap value.

for almost 2K euro this mazda six make appeal :)

    http://cars.donedeal.ie/cars-for-sale/mazda-6-mazda-6-exe-sport-petrol-5-spee/5322560

Donedeal is the most likely place to find bangernomics cars in this country due to it's popularity is the reason why.

However if you happen to come across a bangernomics motor on another site im sure you will be more than welcome to throw it up here :)
