I am not a big fan of replicas but I might actually drive this as a runabout.

    Subaru Impreza WRX

1400 euros and the timing belt was just done.

    Thanks.

Is that Merc really a classic though? It's only a 99 so I was thinking it had to be over a certain age to be a classic...

The classic refers to the spec.
Mercs have classic, elegance and avantgarde as their types if spec.

up it up it, you say €200 now lets say €300, and you say your own 156 job was €400

I not like repeating myself but you should read my post again - you not read it right first time, I put pieces in bold for you to help :) sorry you're mind Is a boggle, I cannot aid with that ...

can u confirm that for 50 sterling we get pump and variator too??

Ironic you claim I didn't read your post. €200 was what I reckon you'd get it done for buying the parts yourself and paying a friend mechanic to do it. Then I realised it might be slightly more.

And if you'd read my post the €400 was from an official garage with him supplying parts labour and VAT so maybe you need to read it again.

Finally if you could read back over it you'd see that it was not me who suggested that the kit was for £50, so ask whoever suggested it I you want confirmation.

I have no time for any of your posts either so Im going to leave it here and continue posting bangers or you can take it to PM if you wish.

Can't see the appeal of that Mazda 6 either tbh.

    Don't be hating on Mazda!

The seats in that one are manky, other than that is a quality car.

Horses for courses. It's a very, very reliable family size modern car with 2 years NCT and it is only 8 years old.

Dull for sure, but a great find in my book :)

    My ads on adverts.ie:

Victron stuff for sale, Multiplus-II, Quattro, other inverters and batteries and usually some watches!

He/she is now looking for €2.5k for it. Must have had a load of calls enquiring.

Crying out for spacers all round too..:D

That the same engine as the Swift Sport in those?

If it was a bit cheaper I'd almost buy it as a daily and use the Roadster as a track car.
A slammed on its ass, turbo daily though. :p

No, the swift sport has a more powerful 1.6 engine

If that was there a week ago and had NCT I'd be all over it. Always wanted one of those, remember a couple of came into the garage when I was younger :) lovely car to be inside.

It needs a new front tyre as well as the door handle mentioned. Those space saver wheels should never go on the front, and are only temporary anyway - just to get you home.

What is the craic with Alfa's?

Are they as unreliable as I am lead to believe?

I can't imagine they are any worse than cars of a similar age..? because the 147's are sexy, and reasonably priced! :pac:

Depends really, on the car in question. A lot of people don't service them on time, which leads to all sorts of problems. Then the local pub salmon of knowledge will tell you that all Alfa's held together with string and will start an electrical fire at random, when in reality the car was never looked after correctly. They are more expensive to maintain correctly, timing belt comes to mind, but unless you get a well cared for Alfa, I would look elsewhere for a bangernomics car that you want to run trouble free. A cheap japbox, Mazda or some Nissans, would be a safer bet. Not my choice, but on the basis of service history in Ireland.

The biggest issue with alfas is the previous owner and how they looked after it.
    Did they check oil regularly.
    Did they service it regularly.
Was the timing belt done on time?

And then you have the pub talk from people who have never owned one saying that they'll blow up.
If you ask Most of the alfa drivers would they buy again, the answer would be a resounding yes (if models were available.....)

Find one that's been looked after and you're laughing

    2000 Saab 93 Aero

Anything to look out for on these?
It was very clean on the outside, interior good also. Miles match service history.

You can tell that from a photo of the spare wheel and speedo binnacle?

Too many photos wasted on paperwork

Saabcentral.com and search sludge. Also bulkhead cracking. After that they're bombproof.
