Have you rang them and asked them to change the box you have registered i.e. the one that will record.

Mine stilll sets my old box to record (which I still use), rather than my horizon box.

AFAIK the remote record isnt working for horizon, but that may have changed so I dunno..

Yes I am finding still the same fundamental sluggishness of the guide, very slow and then when scrolling, it goes too fast /too slow...

channel numbers is also inconsistent for me to...if I click 101 its sometimes looks like its missing and I press 1s and 0s again and end up getting 111 or other... I basically have to treat it like its stupid and click slowly.

I am wondering if this is to do with the fact that I believe the controller operates on Wifi not infrared?
Same here with the RC, seems to always miss out the last digit. two qs that hopefully someone can anser
    1) The text on the TV screen from the guide/channel/programme descriptors is tiny on my scren, any way of increasing the font size
    2) On previous UI you could change the day on the TV guide, so if searching for Saturday programmes could switch to SAt listing-anyway of doing this.

Oh and sorry last Qs, can you just return box and go back to previous box and plan, seriously effed off with mine and considering it

Got the box delivered this morning, but the courier only asked for the old TV back, and didn't want the router. Anyway, it connects to the internet no problem(the Youtube app works, etc), and I can connect all devices to the Horizon box, but it isn't allowing any devices to access the internet through it. Anyone have any ides?

Also, the phone icon is constantly on, and the phone doesn't seem to work through the Horizon box. I'm glad now that I kept the old router so I can come here for help!

It can take some time for all services to be fully provisioned. If it hasn't sorted itself out in a few hours go and give UPC a call.

Thanks for that. In tIt just seems odd that it'll connect itself, but not allow other devices to connect through it. In the meantime though, should I disconnect the Cisco modem I currently have plugged into the (split) connection?

All our planned recordings deleted Saturday 6th July. Was there a recent update ?

And another point my bill is screwed up this month too

I got a call over the weekend to change my box of over to horizon for the same monthly payment. I thought how bad it can't be worse than the piece of **** hd box I currently have. I can't believe reading through the last few pages of the thread how bad it sounds.

    Is it really that bad?

The box is due to be delivered today is there any way I can back out now? Just verbal agreement over the phone nothing signed.

    FML!

It's not as bad as alot of people are making out here, I haven't had half of the issues that people have mentioned on this thread.

The only issue I had was in the early days with a bit of freezing but that all seems to have been resolved for me now.

The box is great and has so much potential. It's very early days so far.

I received my Horizon box about 3 weeks ago, I just had a look at my latest bill and its €30 cheaper than normal. I now see a "Saving and Discounts" section on the bill and I see "6 Months Promotion" -€30.

Is this normal? will I continue to get €30 off for the next 5 months?

Thanks for clarifying Achilles. Please if anyone else has something positive to say don't hold back :)

Just to mention....if anyone gets any bill concessions/discounts, they don't carry over to the horizon system. So, give them a ring if your bill seems higher than normal.

I was told otherwise on the call I received last week.

Mine have carried over. I've just noticed that they changed me from Anytime world to Freetime World on the phone on the change over to Horizon.

For anyone with a wife at home during the day who likes to use the phone, Anytime World is the better plan

We have a booster box in the house that we get a concession for. At least that didn't carry over. Had to ring them.

    Hi folks,

I just want to clarify that any loyalty offers agreed will be continued if you sign up for the Horizon trial.

If you have any queries regarding loyalty offers on your account (or any other Horizon trial related queries) please PM UPC: Reps with your account details, and we will be happy to follow up with you.

    Thanks

A forum like this is likely to collect negative feedback and give a bad impression. It certainly still has its issues, but it's not bad.

    - While people are complaining about speed (in the Guide/channel list especially), it still is much quicker than the old Cisco box.
    - Being able to preview what's showing on other channels before switching is a nice feature.
    - Apps are quite handy, IMO. Open Wikitivia to bring up info on what you're watching (or any other topic) in a side-bar. Or the Journal or Score apps for Irish/sporting news.
    - Having a search (and a remote control with a keyboard) is very useful.
    - The UI generally looks better than the old Cisco box.

Early days? Its been on test for well over a year.
I havent been using it as much lately but it does appear to be more stable than at first.

I was referring to the apps. The box has huge potential in relation to these. The YouTube one is very basic at the moment but I fully expect it to improve over time.

Mine starts straight up with welcome in all different languages
Then it takes up to 20 sec till I can turn it on is this normal
Still getting error message 6010 and I have to wait at least 5 mins before I can connect to a device.

Sounds like it's stuck in provisioning mode. Call upc.

Got mine installed today, Wifi definitely not as fast as the Thompson router I had before.
The big issue I have is I cannot get my HP 5520 printer to work wirelessly. It connects to the network using the Wizard, but the mac or other devices cannot see it.
Anybody have a similar issue ?

Got my Horizon box yesterday, so far so good. Changed the SSID and Wifi password. Connected up my media servers. Connected up my home phone all without a problem. 2 issues I have seen are that there doesn't seem to be any way to fast forward or rewind YouTube videos (as mentioned in a previous post) and the STB has frozen twice, once required a hard reboot and the other was solved with a soft reboot (power on/off from remote)

Will update more when I have it.
